Sorry but this type of story makes conservatives look like crack pots.

It's purpose was to be insulting. They know it is insulting. We know it was done to insult. They know the media will support their denials and frame us as crackpots. Mission accomplished.

In this case it isn't the meal per se, it is the intention of insulting America that is behind choosing the meal. They are saying FU and laughing about how they can openly hate America and get a free pass on it.

IMO you are missing the point. The point here is their intention to insult and retain deniability because someone (you in this case) will point out the iffy authenticity of the fare.

It’s like saying “eff you” and then smugly claiming you didn’t say f*ck you.

70 years ago ~ the people running the show at that school have no memory of the event ~

I just had a dinner of fresh pork cooked over low heat then served with Kokuho Rose rice mixed with carrots. A lot like okayu ~ or, rice with vegetables.

Not that I am being flippant, but I don't see the insult.

Even the Japanese ruling class (in the good old days) imported itself from China, and not just from China but from BEYOND China ~ in Yakutia!

They'd earlier been in India. Best known member of the tribe was a guy we know today as Buddha.

It's chilled to kill off the parasites, and the cheesemaking process minimizes the dangerous bacteria otherwise found in raw milk.

It's about as safe as early Neolithic civilizations could make things.

The Ottoman Empire was among the first foreign powers to recognize the brand new United States way back during the Revolution.

Iraq was then a province of that country, so that had a lot to do with the Fourth of July.

An Iraqi meal would likely be based on American rice grown in South Carolina and a fresh frozen packaged chicken shipped in from Arkansas or Maryland (we do that big time on this planet and before Saddam ruined their economy Iraq soaked up almost all the rice grown in SC).

I've heard tomatoes and cucumbers are a big deal there as well.

We've had neighbors from there from time to time and they make some downright "Western" sounding dishes ~ probably because CIVILIZATION WAS INVENTED by the Sumerians ~

I understand. Because you are not looking at the *intent*, you are being too literal. Of course the meal on the surface is no big deal. It is an insult because it was *intended* to insult. In this case it really is the intent that matters.

Frankly the crowd who run that school aren’t that sophisticated enough in the subtle nuances that PO and anger Conservatives and Patriots.

Nah, I just thought since the menu given was a far cry from a classic American lunch we tend to envision, I figured that if anyone really wanted to have a classic American lunch on Pearl Harbor Day, this would be a good combo.

Some awesome images of Iran....If they weren't so messed up...I'd go there to visit.

A while back Rick Steves...the travel guy went. I watched that show...and was amazed.
