As I heard right from from the mouth a Japanese Historian, Professor and 'scholar' on the History channel: "Japan has never invented anything." And he was proud of this and Japan's history of 'borrowing' things from other countries.
Their language and writing was 'borrowed' from the Chinese. Ditto for their swords and way of fighting with them - originally from China. And their hand to hand fighting was 'borrowed' from Korea. This Japanese expert then clarified that after they 'borrow' all these things, they just, "improve on them".
And this 'borrowing' and 'improving' things from Japan is still evident today. All electronics in our houses were invented here, or with luxury cars - Germany, and Japan just 'improved them'.
So I'm surprised that Japan 'invented' Sushi. Their history shows otherwise.
They'd earlier been in India. Best known member of the tribe was a guy we know today as Buddha.
