Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Ambassador Gutman and the Obama Administration’s Hostility Toward Israel

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement:

“Ambassador Gutman’s troubling statement is part of a pattern of hostility on the part of the Obama administration toward Israel. In the same week that Ambassador Gutman excused anti-Semitism because of Israel’s refusal to accommodate Palestinian demands, President Obama’s Secretary of Defense ranted that the Israelis must get back to the ‘d*** table’ for negotiations, and his Secretary of State insinuated that Israel’s democracy is less than viable because of gender-related debates between religious and secular segments of Israeli society.

“The long and ugly history of anti-Semitism has seen all too many episodes of apologists justifying hatred of the Jews. Given the gathering threat posed by the brutal regime in Iran, now is the time to strengthen ties with Israel to achieve our mutual security interests.

“President Obama must send a clear signal to the world by relieving Ambassador Gutman of his post, stopping his administration’s Israel bashing and recognizing that a two-state solution requires good-faith discussion and negotiation from the Palestinians as well as Israelis.”

I wish a candidate would just outright say Obama, Clinton, etc are anti-Semites and be done with it. They ARE anti-Semites.

Good on Rick some of his staff writers may have been listening to Glen Beck on the Jews. This is what is really going on. Jerusalem is the City of David and is the center of the universe and the Temple Mount is the center of Jerusalem. Everybody wants Jerusalem. Of course you have the Jews, my people. But numerous Christian churches are there. Many mosques including the two abominations on the Temple Mount. They all want a piece of the action. They don’t know why but the why is that they are pulled in by the energy vortex of the Temple Mount.

We Jews are happy enough with the Western Wall for the time being. I went to the Wall four times when I visited. Hashem willing the new Temple gets built there soon ...... starting two hours after the Muslim mosques get bulldozed carted away and dumped into the Mediterranean making new homes for fish to breed

Hardly Pery has been pro-Israel a lot longer than Beck. Maybe Beck listened to Perry.

Gov. Perry Receives Defender of Jerusalem Award
Thursday, August 13, 2009 • Press Release

JERUSALEM – Gov. Rick Perry has received the Defender of Jerusalem Award, which is given to public figures who have demonstrated support and commitment to the state of Israel and its capitol, Jerusalem. The governor accepted the award while on his trip to Israel, where he also met with Israeli President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and business and academic leaders.

“I have long supported the right of a Jewish state to exist in the Middle East and firmly believe in the protection and preservation of democratic states in that part of the world,” Gov. Perry said. “After visiting several sacred and historic sites, meeting with business, civic and government leaders and seeing the day-to-day lives of the people on my trips to Israel, I am even more convinced that a safe, secure Israel is an essential part of stability in this part of the world.”

The Defender of Jerusalem Award was created in 2008 by Guma Aguiar, head of the Lillian Jean Kaplan Foundation, as a tribute to dignitaries within Israel and around the world who have demonstrated strong support for the people of Jerusalem and Israel. The first award was presented to Israeli President Shimon Peres.
