Update at 11:37am EST: Rep. Mel Watt (D-NC) is announcing that he’s not going to talk about Fast and Furious. Instead, he’s going to highlight the Attorney General’s positives (time for a power nap).

Someone should have raised a point of order that the topic was not germane to the committee's needs or purpose and demanded that Watt either revise his course of questioning or yielded his time.

King asks Holder if he has any figures on the number of Mexicans who have been killed as a result of Fast and Furious. Holder doesn't know.

Again with the "I don't know." I swear, if I was on the panel, I'd have cut him off right there and said, "there seems to be an awful lot you don't know, Mr. Holder. Perhaps it would save time for both you and this committee if you just told us everything you do know. From the signs I've seen so far, that should take all of five minutes, with a four-minute coffee break included."

This, of course, is why I'm not in politics.
