Uh no, it's actually good for the NBA that this trade didn't happen. Basically, you'd have 3 "super-teams" (Heat, Lakers, Knicks) and 27 sad-sack franchises. A lot of the small-market owners are already losing money (even with the new concessions from the players). They'd get creamed even more in the "super-team" scenario.
The NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets..Chris Paul is the face of the franchise..no way did the NBA and Stern want their boy toy going to LA..that simple..and it sets HORRIBLE precedent too..basically any deal can be nixed because other owners behave like babies.
