Mystery surrounds how American's most sophisticated spy plane was captured by Iran after it was paraded on Iranian state television earlier today in mint condition.
Iran claims the lost RQ-170 Sentinel was on a surveillance mission last week when it was detected by Iranians over Kashmar and was downed by their armed forces.
But the fact the drone is in such good shape contradicts Iran's claim it was shot down - and backs up U.S. claims that Tehran did not bring it down through electronic, cyber or any other means.

Yup, I do...It circulated for 2-3 days then vanished. Few weeks later, a story popped up on /. about the “virus” actually being enforcement code (code watching the running code). Then, it all just went away.
Actually, the uav does have sde capability. It will be taken back to the appropriate facility and inspected by the appropriate iht, then mission accomplished! TMH for the new world.

It’s my understanding that they are programmed to return to the site where they were launched in the event command signals are lots. If it landed in Iran, I would bet that someone hacked the communications link and took control of the drone.
Too true. Just now heard yet another radio report on this and it described “pres” was given option of sending a team in but said no, because it would be considered an act of war— if anyone believes that they are nuts. Send a team in for a drone you can order destroyed.
That part they won’t discuss. There is more to this than the coverage obviously, and not because obambi is so clever.
Even if they can’t destroy the hardware, they should have at least wiped the computers or something. If they know where it is, they should send a cruise missile or another drone to blow it up.

Not a screw up at all. Assets are lost all the time during operations - that is the expectation, and those are planned for both on the front and back ends.
