You're missing my point completely. I myself often read a news story and enjoy commenting on whether or not I think the alleged perp is guilty or not. It makes for a lively and interesting debate with other Freepers. Luckily, my opinion has no bearing on whether the guy gets a fair trial or not. What scares me about the Sandusky case, is the idea the media has already convicted him, Paterno and other Penn State officials. This does effect whether they get a fair trial or not.

Sandusky admitted in his interview with Bob Costas that he showered with kids and hugged them in the shower. Barring any other action, he should go to jail for that. He is guilry as evidenced by his own confession.

With creeps like the Sandusky and the rest of the (apparently masssive) Penn State pedophile community, there is no limit to what is possible. Maybe Sandusky’s wife was more than just a passive enabler - - maybe she was an active enabler, helping to choose and prep Jerry’s victims. Anything is possible with this crowd.

And the guy who allegedly saw the anal rape also recently claimed he notified the cops at the time- which apparently wasn’t true.... PennState Police probably were notified, and then either bungled the investigation on purpose, were told to back off or just regarded it as a non-crime. I know Penn State and they don’t want bad publicity or the football program to be held up to scrutiny.

Time to shutdown ALL of Penn State’s athletic programs for 10 years and fire all the personnel associated with them. That would be an appropriate punishment.

This is where counselors and police learned not to lead the children on, shaping their stories about abuse that never happened. The spirit of that time was radical feminism which was sexual dysfunction and hysteria in every way.

It is bad for kids that this abuse of the law happened because people have been running from real child sex abuse claims since.

Commonwealth won’t do that, as it would fold. Did you know Spanier was in charge of the investigation of the professor, Micheal Mann, who cheated on the global warming scam from England( can’t think of it right now, it’s early, pain pills, etc)? Basically, the University had a lot of grant money coming in and they asked him “Did you lie on your study?” He said “No.” and Spanier said “Case closed. Not guilty.”

You might as well quit the mob mentality is breaking out and your going to PO people if you don’t join the mob. The media is convicting the guy. I don’t get it. The media is treated as gospel with respect to this guy but the media is jaundice when discussing King Amabo and his administration.

IMO it’s also time for a lot of `institutions of higher learning’ to recall the original reason for their existence - the education of young minds for a productive & moral life, and not necessarily to worship at the altar of the gods of Football.

At Penn State, Sandusky was one of its high priests and therefore above reproach or criticism.

Good points. And Of course you are not saying anything that someone who believes in the rule of law and innocent until proven guilty shouldn’t agree with. But evidently the media has so poisoned the well that some people are now calling for banning Penn State for 10 yrs....how in the hell is that just !! One needs only to Google this to see what can happen when people go crazy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day-care_sex-abuse_hysteria

did the case with the day care center have adult witnesses to the abuse?
Did any adult claim they were eyewitnesses to child rape?

Somewhat-although I shouldn’t be I guess-surprised that these last two indictments and the wife speaking out has brought out the homosexual predator support groups even on FR that we hadn’t heard much from to date. Maybe they felt empowered after learning ESPN had sat on the Syracuse information long enough that that scum will probably get off.

not just one, but 2.
Don’t forget the night when the janitor saw him sodomizing a boy in the hallway.

The GJ presentment describes his reaction as being so terrified that his co-workers thought he was having a heart attack.

So why did this man fail to report? Well...he did in a way...he told his coworkers and supervisor.
Why did the supervisor fail to report?

You get the impression from the presentment there was a climate of fear. They describe Sandusky patrolling in his car outside the building that night until 2 or 3 a.m.

People were afraid.

We have “kids” who are now adults - as witnesses.
We have kids who are still kids.
We have adult witnesses.

None of the witnesses are 2 & 3 yr. old daycare attendees.

Yes. Here is just one example of many from the article I linked too:

McMartin preschool trial

The case started in August 1983 when Judy Johnson, the mother of a 2½ year-old boy reported to the police that her son was abused by Raymond Buckey at the McMartin Preschool in Manhattan Beach, California.[1] After seven years of criminal trials, no convictions were obtained, and all charges were dropped in 1990

Or this one:

Kern County child-abuse cases:

The Kern County child abuse case was the first prominent instance of accusations of ritualized sex abuse of children. In 1982 in Kern County, California, Debbie and Alvin McCuan were accused of abusing their own children. The initial charges were made by Mary Ann Barbour, the children's step-grandmother, who had a history of mental illness. Coercive interviewing techniques were used by the authorities to elicit disclosures of parental sexual abuse from the children. In 1982, the girls further accused McCuan's defense witnesses: Scott Kniffen, his wife Brenda, and his mother. Mary Ann Barbour reported that the children had been used for prostitution, used in child pornography, tortured, and made to watch snuff films. In 1984, each of the McCuans and the Kniffens was sentenced to over 240 years in prison. Their convictions were overturned in 1996.[3]
