How can you charge the media with that unless you’ve given the media a fair trail to decide if they are guilty of convicting the guy?

There is a common theme there...very young children being led by their parents and questionable interrogation techniques.
When you compare that to the ages of the children involved here (much older), and the manner in which the allegations unfolded (particularly the case of “victim #1) I would not but the PSU case in the same category whatsoever.
after skimming your link, you see examples of adults with history of mental illness - or a familial “ax” to grind.
Mike McQueary does not fall into this category - nor does the janitorial staff

Anyways....clearly, grandma had problems and I don’t see an equivalent actor here in the PSU case.
Neither you nor I know what happened to these children. That’s why we have trials in America. Frankly, I haven’t read much about it, All I know is what I see on TV. But I do not like the rush to judgement from people who get all their information from the media. Any facts you think you know may not be true at all. That’s what trial by a jury of your peers means. Juries decide what is true or not after hearing ALL the evidence. All we are saying is that an accused has a right to a fair trial without all this media hype to sell newspapers. And you have an obligation to hold off condemning a man before all the facts come out.
I do not “have” to do anything at all.

As we know from the OJ case, just because a jury says something is “so” does not make it so at all.
If all you know is what you have seen on tv, then I suggest you read the Grand Jury presentment.
No one here is saying he is not entitled to a trial.

I said you have an "obligation" because I presume anyone on this Free Republic site is a thinking conservative American who first and foremost believes in the values that separate this nation from all others. And one of the main values we should all hold dear is that a person is "presumed" innocent until "proven" guilty.
Which means to me that each of us who call ourselves conservative Americans have an OBLIGATION to wait until a jury has decided before presuming a man is guilty as charged. I know this is an emotional case with little boys as victims. But all the more reason we must stick to our values and not succumb to the hysteria of the mob.

well...and there seems to be an insinuation that all the witnesses would either be liars or “easily led” by interrogators.
It is laughable to compare this case to the day care center cases.
That very young pre-school age children can be easily led under questioning has no significance whatsoever to what he have learned about the events at State College.

I am a regular visitor to Happy Valley.
Up until recently - I was a great admirer of JoePa.
I am aquainted with men who used to attend coaching clinics conducted by the staff...including Sandusky.
This was a shock - and the only reason I’ve arrived at the conclusion I’ve arrived at, is because the evidence presented is overwhelming.

hint:...there is a reason why 2 PSU administrators have been charged with perjury.
There is a reason why they have been fired.
There is a reason by the Board of Trustees decided to fire JoePa and Spanier.
Those reasons would not be “hysteria”
There is a reason someone like you would not be allowed on the Jury.
are you upset with the charges of perjury?
They are based on the assumption that Mike McQueary’s testimony is true.
are you upset that PSU fired Curley and Schultz?
That decision was based upon the same assumption.
Are you upset that JoePa and Spanier were fired?
That decision was based upon facts revealed in the Grand Jury presentment.
I suppose it is “possible” that 8 witnesses are telling bold lies. And now 2 more.
I suppose it is possible they described nearly identical experiences without knowing each other - and claiming assaults in different periods of time during Sandusky’s career.
I suppose McQueary could be telling lies that confirm the accusers - for some unknowable reason - that he would do this his former coach, neighbor, and father of his friend and teammate.
I suppose the janitorial staff could also be in on the big lie as well - despite not personally knowing any of the victims or staff.
Either all of these people are liars, or Sandusky is a pedophile.
