Illegals from all over the Southeast were coming to our little county in the NC mountains to get their licenses. The DMV officer was caught only because the lines were so long that the local people couldn’t get their renewals. The officer was represented in court by the chairman of the state board of elections who had been arrested in the past for making obscene phone calls to a child. I think the officer’s fine was about $1,500.
