11-24-11 While Border Patrol agents spend hours and hours taking sensitivity training and being made into mini-environmentalists, illegal aliens continue to burn thousands of acres and trash huge swaths of public and private lands. Border Patrol agents have known this for many years. We know this is shocking, but they don't care about our land, our environment, our "cultural" preservation, or our laws. And why should they? While the Obama Administration and some Republican candidates like Newt Gingrich pander to them and encourage them to keep violating our immigration laws with promises of amnesty, why should they respect any of our laws?
We anxiously await new mandatory DHS and CBP training courses blaming Border Patrol agents for these fires. We are hopeful that El Centro sector can send some of their "singers" to our sector so they can entertain the illegal aliens around their campfires and make them feel more at home.

Of course if we are not going to enfore immigration law we have have to be put to some use so why not become environmental enforcers.
The training referenced in the article is internet based training called the "Virtual Learning Center" or VLC. It has next to nothing to do with our job.
Federal employees have been wasting time with all sorts of usless ancillary training for years. It’s all part of the social experiment to lear how to cow the rest of the populace into accepting the leftist trashing of our once great Nation.
Nice to see the Union is out there taking shots at Newt without checking what he said against what was reported. Disbanding the Public Union might be a show of good faith.
Unless Newt stated that there should be zero tolerance for illegal aliens and illegal immigration then he is for amnesty.

I have now done my part to cut government waste.
Some of the training you can do that. You can’t do that on the training cited in the article. It took me more time trying to figure out how to scam throught it than it did to just read it.
These training classes are in all areas of the workforce. Total waste of time and money.
I noticed, recently, that they began mixing up the order of the questions and even the answers, although it was for something we really ought to know. You can’t even go through and pick “A” for everyone, write down which ones that is the answer, and then go back for “B”.
The two worst aspects of my job are training and meetings. Meetings you can always walk out of (”Oh, that’s my phone... yeah, I can talk...”) training though, on relentlessly useless topics...
