Too bad MOST Americans like having a government that bails out the lazy and reality-challenged;as well as a government that tells OTHER people how to live,right down to what light bulb and toilet!

I say this because Americans have contained to either vote for more government or fail to vote or protest against more government;therefore what we have must be what the majority of those who vote want.If you don’t even bother to vote at all then that is even worse.

Articles like this one is why I stopped following American Thinker on a regular basis. They are getting too far off into the weeds on the side of the road... (And, not to mention their adoption of disqus software for comments. What a pathetic piece of software, to go along with their new moderators and new moderator policy. Useless, more than useless...)

In addition, Paul's proposed budget would make a great starting point for dialogue, but have been ignored. Paul would not cut military pensions and benefits, nor SS for those retired and near retired, but would end freebies for illegals. all foreign aid, several entire departments.

Yes, Ron Paul is focused on honoring the promises that were made to those who served and got pretty ticked off at Obama for suggesting cuts to military benefits a few months back:

And he saves SSI and Medicare for those already dependent and nearing dependence, by other cuts, while letting younger people opt out.

Personally, I think that Ron Paul's is going to be the least painful way of getting us back on track, economically and socially -- and while it isn't going to painless, it's going to hurt like hell for some -- it's may well be the last step before a potentially real financial, social and political Armageddon for this country. I don't think that most people really understand just how serious this economic situation is and close to the precipice of a complete meltdown we are.

We are indeed on the precipice and leaning toward the edge.

A sharp return to the Constitution and its limitations is needed NOW, not later.

Get rid of a few of his crazier opinions and bring him up to speed on some of the political realities that have changed since the Constitution was written, and Dr. Paul doesn’t sound that bad.

Besides, don’t we need a little “good crazy” to counter the madness we’ve seen over the past few decades?

I suspect you are correct. The damage done by globalism and so-called 'free trade' until recently had been hidden by cheap electronic toys made by neo slaves in third world countries, access to cheap credit, and by 'enhanced' government statistics (which are losing credibility).
