Wouldn’t “gay conservative” be an oxymoron?

To an ignorant narrow mind perhaps.

I know many fiscally conservative, church-involved, celibate, disinterested in redefining marriage homosexuals.

What would you call them if not "gay conservative?"

You live in a very unusual place. If they're celibate and conservative, why do the identify as "gay" and why do they tell other people? Sounds....odd.
