That’s pretty close to Newt’s view too if you care to read up on him. He says our health insurance costs whether government or employer provided will never be brought under control as long as the individual is not responsible in large part for his own care and well being. As long as we rely on insurance or government to pay the large majority of our bills and could care less about the actual costs, our premiums and healthcare costs are going to continue to soar.

He’s in favor of making health insurance more portable and incentivizing them through tax deductions for individuals and by giving people more choices so individuals can afford to purchase their own plans and not lose them as they move from job to job. Also to turn government involvement back over to the states for poor people so it can be better controlled locally. Also wants tort reform to reduce the costs of junk lawsuits.

Jim,
I haven’t posted much in the 12 yrs I’ve been here, but you are right on this one. Yes...no votes have been cast yet, but everyone can see the quarter from which the wind blows. There is clearly no one else running who is of the caliber of Newt....sure, he has his warts, but they are well known and he’s on notice. The Kenyan must be removed and i think this is the way to do it.
