This is good news for Hussein, and “justifies” his transfer of drone technology to his good muslim friends.

Guess they won’t be needing that nuke plant—right?

At about $7/1000 cubic feet, not a bad haul.

“Iran discovers gas field in Caspian Sea (estimated 50 TRILLION cubic feet of gas)”

Claims from unreliable sources don’t mean much.

I question their numbers. Our moslem friends can be prone to exaggerate.

The iranians are far worse than the Soviets on their propoganda.

Their claims to have found 50 Trillion cubic feet of gas are about as true as their claim to have reverse-engineered the US drone in 3 days, and that they will begin producing their own, even better version in the very near future.

50 TRILLION cubic feet of gas

So as I calculate it that’s roughly 50 cubic miles. A pretty significant find. So how do the people who keep claiming we are past “Peak Oil” explaining this? Or is it Iran just exaggerating as usual?

Who knows, get back to me in 20 years we’ll know the truth, (Maybe), by then.

But they do not have the money nor the technology to exploit it.

estimated 50 trillion cubic feet of gas

To many people this sounds like a incredibly large amount of gas. In reality, it is about 5% of their current reserves. No doubt it is a great find, but another 5% doesn't really change anyone's game.

They better not be fracking, or we’ll send the EPA over there.

So as I calculate it that’s roughly 50 cubic miles.

I hope you do understand that it is under pressure and no where near that in actual field volume.

Also try your calcs again. It is 340 cubic miles.

Achmeddinejad, your days are NUMBERED. This is too much potential wealth to be relegated to a third rate military power. Eventually THIS will induce the U.S. or Russia to attack Iran.

Iran would be a tougher nut to crack than Iraaq, but not as tough as Afghanistan.
