allows the student to eisegete whatever substitution fits the vanity teaching of the day

The passage is in principle appropriate contextually to the corruption of misreporting house sales numbers. No other elaborate explanation is necessary. Your comment was an ad hominem attack which was not written in good taste.

No, it was totally inappropriate and I cared enough to show exactly why.

What is inappropriate is coming into a public forum, hijacking Scripture so that one can pose as a modern seer and Prophet of Doom.

Its very simple: These people are sinners fulfilling their job description.

If God was all about works, then I suppose you can point to some random sin in someone and declare the person reprobate and offal for judgement. But that isn't the case, so pointing out a prophecy against a "chosen people" nearly three millennia ago for offenses that were articulated in the Law and then extrapolating that into a category of lawless sinners now doesn't make sense and raises the question why.

I would hope that your respect for God's Word and Revelation would dissuade you from decontextualizing it so that it can be played in a haphazard way.

Those who file misleading housing reports are no different sinners than those who lie, cheat and steal in other areas of their life. These compounding sins will be Judged at the Last Day, not some random lighting bolt from a Zeus-like god in the sky which was the take-away message in your original post.

Don't you agree that we must protect the integrity of the Gospel and not water it down or bastardize it to score political points?

Think about it. Your words in this forum can be googled. Lets say that someone who is a player in cooking the books, may even feel a bit of remorse, but stumbles upon your "Thus Says The LORD" condemnation of filing misleading reports. What are they supposed to think? For those who are estranged from the Gospel, the first and maybe only thought is "God hates me and I'm going to get bitch slapped by Karma."

Great. So lets jettison Grace and leave the accountant seeking cover in a Faraday Cage to avoid the wrath of an angry God. If you are going to serve up Judgement, then its only appropriate to follow through with the message of Grace.
