That's -- I'm running for office, for Pete's sake, I can't have illegals. [video clip] -- Mitt Romney, GOP presidential debate - October 18, 2011 - Las Vegas, NV
Mitt Romney Offers Rick Perry $10,000 Bet: ABC News/Yahoo News Republican Debate [video clip] Dec 10, 2011 -- Iowa
I think the bet showed poor judgement and showboating.
Newt rattled Romney right from the start with his comment concerning Romney’s reason for staying in the private sector.
Romney was off balance from that moment on.
I don’t think this matters much. Romney’s imploding in the polls in Iowa and he’s in a freefall in polls in New Hampshire. He’ll be gone in about a month from now.
Too bad they didn’t give credit where credit is due. When given the opportunity Perry consistently yanks Romney’s chain.
Bain Capital, has cut checks totaling $90,000 to Romneys operation.
JMHO - All of the GOP candidates are superior to Obama - but it will not matter. Obama and the Dems will allow the economy’s continued deterioration to encourage more blue-collar & middle-class workers becoming dependent on unemployment benefits & even food stamps.
These are the voters who, out of fear and self-interest, will opt for continued government programs. Those people who, over their working years, have paid $millions in income tax will want some return on their ‘investment’ even if it’s only a few thousand in unemployment benefits. It’s their money and they are also entitled.
On the razor edge of chaos - people choose the status quo as a safety zone.
Obama doesn’t care - if the economy improves - he gets bragging rights - if the economy worsens - he blames the GOP.

IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

That bet showed he was backed into a corner and it was childish. It reminded me of a kid on the playground betting a million dollars...
