General Secretary Nobutero Ishihara of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party, 2nd highest ranking official and possibly a future Prime Minister of Japan, asserted in Washington that Japan should position military forces, an armed forces bases for troops on the Senkaku's or Diaoyu's or Diaoyutai Islands. He is son to Tokyo Governor Shintaro Ishihara one who denies Japanese responsibility in the Nanjing Massacre of 1937 a particularly heart wrenching part of history etched in many a Chinese psyche- whether ROC (Taiwan), PROC (China), or Chinese worldwide (indicative in the recent wide distribution reading and interest in Iris Chang's 'Rape of Nanjing'). This announcement came just days after the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941 as commemorated on Oahu Hawaii.

C;mon, guilt by parentage? I think his idea is a sound military proposal.

Not saying ‘guilt’ but that our selected policy then- has reverberations now that over here in the middle of the Pacific, could on some fringes (hopefully to not become reality) could secure U.S. armed forces to mediate over a group of islands we officially have a ‘neutral’ stance towards, though our ‘ally’ would point- that we should defend. An ambiguious ‘messiness’ that poses problems- bottom line. Hawks don’t help, especially if one becomes PM.

I’ve read and re-read your post. I can’t discern its meaning. It isn’t very clear.
I prefer a Hawk to a Dove.

Sorry, I think I mis-read; you were referring to my ‘reply’ to your post. You are right- not too clear. Well, here is a Tojo granddaughter of Hideki. Her last quote is particularly relevent here as can see on the Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuko_Tojo
