“I think they’re so stupid, they actually believe it. And we all know the kneepad media would never question them.”

Understand something...
It no longer matters what the TRUTH is, just how the narrative is spun.

This is the same woman who, assisted by the media, convinced the sheeple that 4.2% Unemployment under Bush was “THE WORST ECONOMY SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION!!” in 2006.

Today, I had yet another example foisted on me showing just how prevalent Liberal Media Propaganda has become.

Someone I know to be an intelligent, educated person told me today, during a discussion on leaving Iraq:

1) “Bush killed 1.5 MILLION PEOPLE in Iraq!”
(Not true at all, not even close. Icasualties.Org)

2) The Iraq war cost TEN TRILLION DOLLARS!!!
(not true... Iraq cost LESS than Obama’s Porkulus)

After these two declarations, I asked my standard question to determine how fooled by media propaganda someone is:

“Who said, ‘I can see Russia from my house!”

The answer that came back, IMMEDIATELY, was “Why Sarah Palin, of course!”.

I stopped there...

Many here fail to realize just how deep and penetrating media propaganda has become. We, in this forum, know and understand the truth.

They vast majority of the sheeple, however, only know what they see as a headline on their Iphone, The radio headline they hear during the drive home from work during Rush Hour, the headline someone posts on Facebook, or what the 30 minute evening news deigns to cover.

I agree with your entire post. The media is much more powerful than most here want to acknowledge. But it is the point about the truth that particularly bothers me.

With the media, there is no longer any such thing as objective truth. More often than not it is messenger related. If a Democrat says it, it must be true, no fact checking required. If a Republican says it, it must be disproved, regardless of where alternate “facts” are derived.

If a Democrat says that printing more money and giving it away to the poor will make us all richer, it’s reported as fact. (Not too far from what Ms. Pelosi just puked out).

If a Republican says that if you spend more than you make, you’ll go broke. It’s challenged, and “disproved” with all manner of disinformation.
