The ID card for illegals has been a huge draw for illegals, who have come into New Haven by the thousands in the past 4 years. Official estimates place the number of illegals - mainly Ecuadoreans - at between 10,000 and 12,000, but dissenting experts place the figure closer to 20,000 - a staggering 15.5% of the city’s population.
How have these new additions to the city impacted it? In just 3 years since the ID was offered, thank to illegals stealing jobs, the unemployment rate has risen at TWICE the national rate - with poor and lower middle-class blacks affected the most.
New Haven’s murder, assault and robbery rates DOUBLED, and the city is now the 4th most dangerous city in the U.S., according to FBI stats, and is posied to replace Hartford as Connecticut’s murder capital, for the first time this year.
