DAN PATRICK SHOW: Urban Meyer on Tim Tebow's Success
csnne ^ | 12-2011

LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW ON THE DAN PATRICK SHOW

Meyer questioned his ability coming out of high school and didn't have him ranked as his top quarterback. That changed when he saw him play baseball and saw Tebow as the most competitive human being he's ever met.

Wow. I loved the last few moments when the coach says that Tim is no hypocrite and that his faith made a change in the coach’s life.

Urban Meyer... go Buckeyes!

I’ve become a Tim Tebow fan, even though he helped destroy the Buckeyes in that BCS championship game.

I'm looking forward to Meyer being the next major conference coach coming to a man's league and losing when Big 10 season arrives. The Buckeye's version of Rich Rod. :)

Go Green! Go White!

Won’t happen...the Bucks with any kind of coaching this year could have been 10-2...easy. He’s already recruited some studs on the D Line. I will be cheering for you guys in your bowl game though....best of luck! Go Big 10.

Unfortunately for Ohio State, Tebow wasn’t part of the package that came with Urban.

Agreed. I have become a big fan of Tebows, even after the disaster which was the ‘07 Championship game. I also believe B. Miller will fit in well with U. Meyers idea of a Quarterback to run his style of offense.

GO Bucks!!

O-H !!...

Sparty had a good year, but the bottom line is Sparty is the little brother in his own state.

OSU is a different story. And Meyer has won in 2 places. Meyer had the Utah Utes in the national picture! Then he won in the SEC. No comparison with Rich Rod, who is a jerk. I wish Michigan still had him. :)

Next year will be good, but the 2013, the Buckeyes will be all the way back.

Little brother? Four in a row this year over "big brother" says otherwise. MSU has been Big Ten contenders (as of last weekend of the year) or champs three of the last four seasons, right there with Wisconsin, (minus last year) Ohio State, and sometimes Penn State.

We red-shirted all except one player in the last recruiting class. Most of our line is young and coming back. Our weakness should be a strength next year if they stay healthy. We lose two backup d-tackles, Foreman on offense, and maybe Worthy. Cousins and Cunningham are big losses, but Bell and Baker will be back, and Maxwell is supposed to be real good and will be a redshirt junior.

Meyer is real good when he has his quarterback. Alex Smith and Tim Tebow on the college level make most coaches look great. Tressel won a national title with Craig Krenzel, whom I don't believe even had a 90's era MSU offer. He won big 10 titles with folks like Beanie Wells and Clarett in the backfield, tough defense, and a Wisconsin/Iowa style O-line.

If Meyer can keep Tressel's defense and not have it pansied from his spread offense, he'll be fine. If he weakens their toughness from his spread, OSU will drop a step and be fired in three years Notre Dame style since multiple 8-4 seasons aren't acceptable.

His last year at Florida was a mess.

Yep, I don't think Muschamp is going to cut it....you cannot hire somebody without head coaching experience at this level....I don't care how good of a coordinator they were, head coaching and being a coordinator are two different things.

Probably correct. I think he has one year to recruit and show what he can do, or he is gone. If he's lucky enough to be given another year. This season was a shame too, I think the gators had some good talent that was not exploited very well at all.

I thought bringing in Weis was a big mistake, and I’m glad he left for Kansas, the worst thing you can do as a new head coach is to bring somebody on that is better known than you...I think it created a bad atmosphere....hopefully now Muschamp will have more control over all aspects of the team.

I have a feeling though, they will bring in Kerwin Bell for the new OC, which I would whole-heartedly support.
