"I’ve been telling people all along that Newt is the real thing, and he’s substantially different than when he was Speaker of the House," said Dave Garrison...

Unfortunately this is true. Newt WAS conservative when he was Mr. Speaker. His record since he left office....

Much more liberal.

If there’s a liberal bone in his body (which I sincerely doubt) he’d still be infinitely less liberal than the second place, second rate Mitt Romney. And much more reliable than the third place third rate, Ron Paul. Bachmann’s a great conservative congressperson, but sorry, she doesn’t hold a candle to Newt’s actual conservative accomplishments and can’t compete against the depth of his real world knowledge and experience. Nor can Santorum. And Perry’s got a huge mountain to move to make it into the top tier. But it is a mountain of his own doing, so maybe he can move it. But, meanwhile, if it’s Newt vs Romney, I’m with Newt all the way.

Well since his record says he will do what he says he will do, what is the platform he is running on now. His platform as per his website is solidly conservative.

Okay, what is so “liberal” about him? Because he sat with Pelosi on a couch? He admitted that was dumb, and AFAIK he’s anything but an avowed AGWist. He’s said multiple times on record that he believes evidence on human-induced climate change to be inconclusive. What better could you ask for?

Or because he supposedly called the Ryan plan ‘right-wing social engineering’—a statement which was entirely taken out of context if you listen to his explanation here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=hCTM2hzMvrY

Bah. I’m half-tempted to start a substantive list refuting annoying these mischaracterizations with appropriate counter-evidence.

Don't worry about Newt!

If he wins the presidency he will not be satisfied with being just another Big Government President.

As a student and maker of history, Newt will want to achieve a legacy for the history books.

He will revert to the old Newt.

He will not let the opportunity slip away!

Elect Newt ans be ready to help him restore America's greatness again.

We must not stop being activists.

We can help him erase every vestige of Obama in less than a year!
