Funny how atheists are so bothered by a ‘mythological’ display. It should trouble them no more than a unicorn statue. And exactly how does a Nativity scene on government grounds equate to the state establishing a religion? It isn’t that these people disbelieve in God, they hate God.
“And exactly how does a Nativity scene on government grounds equate to the state establishing a religion?”
Equating the display of religious scenes on courthouse grounds with the establishment of a state religion is childish and shows a real misunderstanding of the 1st amendment.
Since this is a Madison, WI group and Athens is in Texas, tell them to buzz off. We will do exactly as we please.
I had this argument with a coworker — his idea was that display of any religion would require a display of EVERY religion—making it, obviously, overly burdensome and impossible, thereby “fair” for everybody. Lawyers are a drag on society.
