[history]
The crisis at Blackberry maker Research In Motion Ltd. showed no sign of lifting Thursday, as the company said a long awaited product revamp would be delayed until late 2012.
RIM's two top executives made a symbolic gesture of resolve, asking that their pay be dropped to $1 a year.

One of Blackberry’s biggest problems is that they are too diversified, in terms of their product line. They’ve got 9 types of phones.
They’d be far better off with fewer types of phones. Apple only has one type of phone and they do very well.

I just switched from a Blackberry Curve to an HTC Inspire. I'm very happy with the switch with one caveat. The HTC has the shortest battery life of any phone I've ever used. It appears to me that the opposition is moving much faster than RIM.

The QNX is supposed to provide an amazing exprience.
It’s too bad it’s coming out two years later than it should have.

It’s so bad that RIM executives are chewing through the straps to get away from their own product (not really).
Actually, they were chewing through the straps they were bound with when they got insanely drunk, abusive, and rowdy on an international flight.
Still. It must be lots of fun to work for RIM right now.

Mine, too. I knew if I waited long enough, I'd find something I agree with him on.

I picked up the Playbook when they dropped the price. I know the reviews were lukewarm when it was first released, but I'm pretty impressed with the PB so far. If the iPad is better, it must really be something because the QNX OS seems like it could be a winner. But it won't do them any good if they don't release phones with this OS soon.

The PB is great. QNX-BB10 is great, and when they get this on phones, they will have one of the best phones.
I also have an older Bold,it works perfect. I upgraded the software for free, online, and it eliminated all the old bugs.
If they get sold before BB10 comes out, the buyer will have a steal and make a fortune.

I don't want to burn my updgrade because I was planning on using it on the new BB phone. But I may have to purchase a used Bold so I can make use of the bridging feature with the PB.
