Officer walks in on robbery at McDonalds in West Palm Beach, kills suspect

WEST PALM BEACH — A man died this morning after being shot by an officer while trying to rob a McDonald's restaurant on Okeechobee Boulevard near Congress Avenue.

A homeland security agent walked into the restaurant at 2421 Okeechobee Boulevard just after midnight and shot the man as he was trying to rob the eatery, West Palm Beach Police Spokesman Chase Scott said.

The man, whose name was not released by police, was taken to St. Mary's Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The man was dressed as a woman at the time of the robbery, Scott said.

It is rather amusing when you see a story like this, to say to yourself, “KA-CHING! The taxpayers save 2 million dollars!”

That is the approximate cost of the trial and imprisonment of a violent criminal for the typical sentence. So you can only do the “KA-CHING!” if the criminal dies.

You'd like my prison reform plan. I propose that heavily armed prison guards be stationed outside prison walls and food, medical supplies and small arms and ammo be air dropped to prisoners on the inside. Maybe .22 or .25 caliber and only enough to arm about half the inmates.

The prison population would start decreasing very rapidly.
