Here is the historian W.H. Lecky:
No fact is more incontestable and conspicuous than the love of democracy for authoritative regulation[.] ... The great majority of the democracies of the world are now frankly protectionist, and even in free-trade countries the multiplication of laws regulating, restricting, and interfering with industry in all its departments is one of the most marked characteristics of our time... The expansion of the authority and the multiplication of the functions of the State in other fields, and especially in the field of social regulation, is an equally apparent accompaniment of modern democracy. This increase of State power means a multiplication of restrictions imposed upon the various forms of human action. It means an increase of bureaucracy, or, in other words, of the number and power of State officials. It means also a constant increase of taxation, which is in reality a constant restriction of liberty. One of the first forms of liberty is the right of every man to dispose of his own property and earnings[.] ... If taxes are multiplied for carrying out a crowd of objects in which he has no interest, and with many of which he has no sympathy, his liberty is proportionately restricted[.]
Lecky published these words in 1896.
He could not have imagined the reach of the state 115 years later...

Our politicans and our people best remember that we are a Republic........not a democracy. Being a Republic gives us, the American people, the right to change what is going on in our government.
Not going too well is it. Hopefully the majority of Americans have their eyes opened to the fact that the communists have destroyed much of America and our freedom. They have used the very freedoms offered by the Republic to politically destroy it. This is the turning point and if King Obama who is a communists black piece of trash will destroy us. He must be overthrown and we must elect those that are not just conservatives but hard core Constitutionalists. Listen to Gingrich, he knows what is in store for us and with one minute sound bites is clearly letting us know what has happened
There are three words not present anywhere in the American Constitution...
1) democracy...
2) democratic..
3) democrat...
Its ON PURPOSE.. the founders knew this word and omitted it on purpose..

when I was in school, demoracy was considered a four letter word and the worst form of government ever devised!
I would be for going back to the day that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights were first put into play. Put all laws and regulations on hold until they could be proven to follow the these two documents. This would put us back to our Republic that we hold so dear. The further we get away from the Republic, that fast we will lose our country to the dictators. I agree with Newt about our judges. What is the responsibility of a President if our Judges do not follow the Constitution?
