Joe Biden has a long history of verbal flubs, but this one may take the cake.
‘The Taliban, per se, is not our enemy,” Biden said.
That’s right. The Vice-President of the United States, initially added to the Obama campaign to add foreign policy gravitas to the ticket, has come out and questioned whether the Taliban are our enemy.
Let’s get right to the context, which the media will inevitably hype in an effort to conflate an amazing gaffe with straight-talkin’, straight-shooting’ foreign policy from the VP.
Biden was answering questions from Les Gelb for a Newsweek interview, the full text of which you can read here. The subject matter of the interview ranged considerably across the foreign policy spectrum from Afghanistan to Iran and China.
But it was on Afghanistan that the Vice President uttered the particularly shocking line about the Taliban. Biden was apparently addressing the reconciliation process in Afghanistan, which could mean a brokered peace with the Taliban. Specifically, he said:
“Look, the Taliban per se is not our enemy. That’s critical. There is not a single statement that the president has ever made in any of our policy assertions that the Taliban is our enemy because it threatens U.S. interests. If, in fact, the Taliban is able to collapse the existing government, which is cooperating with us in keeping the bad guys from being able to do damage to us, then that becomes a problem for us.”

Yes, I agree, to Joe Biden and Obama, the Taliban is not the enemy. To this American, Joe and Barry are enemies to the Union, just like their allies, the Taliban.
Both have as a goal the overthrow of Free America. So they are allies in the same cause.
Perhaps NOW and other feminist groups would like to take a stab at this? Lets help them....Mr. Vice President, How does this fit with the public pronouncement that our foreign aid decisions will be governed by Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender rights as stated by the State Department and the office of the President?

I am amazed at the things that can come out of a leftist democrat’s mouth that is completely ignored by the communist mainstream media idiots. If a concervative would pull the same gaffs it would be front page news.

According to Joe Biden and the left, the reason why ‘the Taliban per se is not our enemy’ are because of the following reasons:
1) Christianity and the crusades invading traditional Islamic lands(Islamic self Defense)
2) Greedy oil corporations/Defense contractors manipulating the government into declaring war on Middle Eastern lands for more drilling rights/testing military hardware (exploitative capitalism)
3) propaganda by FoxNews and Talk Radio (conservatives)
4) Unenlightened US citizens who fail to grasp diversity and multiculturalism of the world as taught by academia while portrayed by Hollywood
5) Mankind is a victim of circumstances(Humanism)
I'm feelin' ya Joe.
