Cain: ‘Look for My Army on Capitol Hill’
NRO Online ^ | 122011 | Robert Costa

Posted on 12/20/2011 1:03:38 PM PST by Fred

Herman Cain tells National Review Online that he will launch a new political-action committee in January. The outfit, whose final name remains under wraps, will be Cain’s main project next year. Its mission will be to enact his “9-9-9” economic plan.

“We continue the campaign without a candidate,” says Cain, who hinted at the endeavor during his departure speech. “There are a lot of people who are willing to support the campaign for solutions without the end objective being my election as president of the United States.”

As Cain transitions to private life, “Friends of Herman Cain,” the financial force behind his presidential campaign, is being dismantled. “Most of that money is being used to retire all of our debt, which is good news,” he says. His revamped operation “will be a new entity that will promote many of the same solutions that I spoke about as a candidate.”

Cain: ‘Look for My Army on Capitol Hill’

But don't look for me, I'll be hiding from the Missus, she's a little bent out of shape over my extracurricular activities...

“We continue the campaign without a candidate,” says Cain.

Translation: I got to sell more books! I may as well use campaign money to launch a book tour.

“There is no law that says I can’t talk about these issues as a citizen,” Cain says. “And there is no law that says that people can’t contribute to funding our efforts to educate people and influence legislators. That is what we are going to do.

This guy is pure snake oil.

Shut your pie hole Herb and go enjoy your 9 million you bilked from supporters.

Do you really think anyone is going to give you money? By the way, 9-9-9 sucked, it was the worst thing about your candidacy.

When Perry and the American People demand a part time Congress, lobbyists will become a thing of the past. How sweet it will be.

Sadly, I don’t think it is possible, but Perry is on the right side of the issue.

Old Herb is trying to bilk people out of money to influence peddle.

Lotsa detractors here.. Hmm, maybe they are IRS shrills or accountants. If it weren’t for Cain’s plan, the only one talking about reforming the tax code would be Paul. I, for one, am grateful for his contribution to the honest discussion about extreme reform, starting with taxes. Who would not support that conversation.. let’s see.. people who make their living stealing from citizens, and Establishment folks. Looks like most folks here are interested in status quo. Thanks Herm, for starting the conversation, wish you were more Presidential. From now on, candidates who are not talking about this serious issue, will not get a moments notice from me.

Perry has been talking tax reform since before he entered the race.

Nah, we don’t mind “uppity negroes” (your words, not mine) we just don’t like hucksters or con men who use our elective process as a book selling tour and who bilk people out of their money to sponsor it.

I like Perry, I understand he has talked about it. Unfortunately, it was not something memorable. That’s what made Cain powerful.. and why the money changers drove him out. What is the essence of Perry’s plan? Does he abolish the 14th? There is something about voters I speak to and the desire to have someone speak boldly. Perry did great in this last debate & his hard work is paying off. Not too keen on being called heartless though. When he explained the tuition on Hannity, he made sense, 10th ammendment. I hate to say it, but bold and plain statements get fixed in our heads more effectively than the typical tactic. I think we are all in the mood for a powerful do-er. Perry runs a vast state, something he doesn’t get credit for, Texas is vibrant. Still not sure he wouldn’t push mass amnesty on the heartless.

Gingrich is the one proposing Amnesty, and Cain could not get the 14th repealed.
Under his own 999 plan he called on the power of the super committee to get it implemented because he knew he could never get 2/3 votes in the house and senate.

I consider the super committee unconstitutional.
