FedEx has vowed to track down the deliveryman who was caught on video carelessly tossing a computer monitor over a fence during a delivery.
Company spokeswoman Shea Leordeanu would not say what would become of the employee once they find him, but added: 'This won't be his best day.' The hilariously sad clip of a FedEx delivery man chucking the computer monitor has attracted nearly 200,000 viewers on YouTube in a single day, many of whom expressed fears that their holiday packages would be treated with the same regard.

It looks like the recipient’s security video. If they have that address, they should know who the delivery man from the scanned package. Unless, this is a giant hoax.
LOL...you must be pretty. My delivery's are left on the door step and they ring the bell. When I called, they said that was their policy to speed up delivery.
I sent a package of bed linens in a box and shut down the entire post office. To find a good, strong box I went to the hardware store and found a sturdy box that orginally had insecticide cans.
The post office had a fit, thinking I was engaged in chemical warfare. The postmaster high poobah called and said I terrorized his staff. I told him that I was grateful that they didn’t call the Air Force and nuke the blanket and queen-size sheets. I also informed the PO that bedsheets rarely blowup. The PO never liked me after that incident.
FedEx blows the doors off of UPS and USPS for one reason and one reason only:
The latter are both union-thug, FedEx is not.
They better try hard. My previous Fedex clown did that with a computer.
More than likely, they’ll return to sender marked ‘no mail receptacle at location’.

I had a similar experience a couple of months with FedEx. My daughter was getting married and had ordered some glassware to give as gifts to her bridal attendants. I saw the FedEx truck drive up and just as I opened the door, I saw the delivery throw the package by my front door. The package was clearly marked Fragile. Thankfully, the glasses weren’t broken, but I’m now thinking this wasn’t an anamole. FedEx drivers must be trained to throw packages instead of walking up to the door to deliver the package safely. BTW I’ve never had this experience with UPS.

Did it still work? Have they seen how these packages are handled when they are loaded on the plane, off the plane, onto the truck?
I’d also like to see if there was more to the video. Did the delivery guy first ring a bell and get no answer? What are delivery people supposed to do at a house with a security fence, not deliver at all?
And I’d like to see where the box ended up. If the guy wanted to, it looked like the box might have fit between the bars. Certainly he could have put his HAND through the bars and let the box down on the other side. So I suspect there was something sufficiently soft where he “threw” the box to explain why he decided to throw the box where he did.
The big problem is that leaving the box anywhere out there left it exposed to the elements.
Oh, and one last issue — Does Fed Ex really deliver things in their display-sales boxes? I guess they could, although I thought fed-ex always had you put things into THEIR boxes. I presume this video is NOT a set-up since FedEx is now saying they are looking for the guy, but if I didn’t have that info I’d wonder if this was real.
And I still wonder how the guy with the security fence and video monitoring expected his package to get delivered to his door.
My UPS guy was a guy from my church, and he was a dream as a delivery person as well.
I think most of my stuff from Amazon comes UPS, and I’ve never had a problem with any UPS-delivered items.
What person gets a broken package, has evidence how it got broken, and posts a you-tube video and does an interview with the local news outlet that gets picked up by a foreign newspaper BEFORE they contact the delivery company to collect on the damage and get a replacement?
A while back there was a ‘study’ of damage and shippers. UPS was the least worst. Worst worst was USPS.
BTW, they ain’t all union at UPS.
Last thing, and again I have to assume the video IS real, but...
When you watch the delivery guy heft the package up and throw it over the fence, it sure looks like an empty box, not a box with a large LCD monitor in it. He does use a second hand at some point, but watch how easily he “pivots” the box — heavy things, you need better leverage to rotate the package to get it over the fence.
Like I said, there are several things that just don’t “look right” in this story. Not the least of which is that how could the delivery guy expect to get away with this? Even without a video, dropping the package on the lawn would clearly indicate the package was not “delivered”.
I have lived rural since 1993. In N Calif & now in N Nevada.
MOST ALL the UPS drivers I had at both of those locations were on top of things. Most opened & closed the gate & brought packages to my front door. My current UPS driver knows who is elderly—who is in declining health— & isn’t afraid to notify the Sheriff’s deputies if he thinks something is wrong. He feels it is better to be safe for all his customers.
Only had one serious screwup & that was in the middle of summer when I ordered large animal vaccines in N Calif. They are sent in a manner that gets them there within 3 days within the week. Nothing is held overnight or over the weekend when shipped properly.
I didn’t get my package & called UPS. Said it was delivered YESTERDAY. I went out & looked & it had been put alongside my WELL building, OUTSIDE my gate.
Needless to say, I could not use those vaccines, since they had sat in hot weather for over 24 hours. UPS stood behind me & the shipper. They paid for another shipment & I verified that the sender did NOT have any costs because of the problem.
Since I lived where large animals were common & most of us gave our own shots to our horses, etc, I had a long talk with the local UPS office. I found out later that the driver was demoted & put back on a full 2 years probation for what he did with my vaccines. The cost of that shipment was over $200 ++ shipping.
I have service from Fed Ex, also, but they are not so visible out here.
We send out dozens of packages every day, using M-Bags, Media Mail, registered, parcel post, 1st Class and Priority and their service has always been excellent.
In many years, we’ve only lost five packages total.
I don’t understand the hatred found on this site towards the USPS, they’re the foundation of our business, and many other business, and always do exemplar work.
