Brace yourselves!! you supporters of Constitutional Governance. These attacks on Ron Paul are only the beginning of what you must endure to achieve your goals.
Take heart, things are in motion that will be hard to stop. The folks in power are not going to relinquish that easily, you must expect a battle. The name calling and hysterics are only the beginning. Please let us all be brave

RedState.com needs to be banned from FR.

Erik Erickson is the f’ing scum of the earth.

Reposting any of the vitriol bulls**t this scumbag Beltway whore pays to have published on this vile bullsh**t website is the furtherance of this vile bullsh**t.

Anyone and EVERYONE who endorsed McCain is an enemy of Conservatism.

Anyone who thought there is one spit of difference between Al “Big Gov” Gore and George “I refuse to use a veto pen” “let’s bankrupt the country with Medicare Rx to buy votes” W Bush is a f’ing fool.

Anyone who would discredit the entire Constitution Party over Baldwin’s position on States Rights in Post-Civil War United States is the enemy of Conservatism.

If you can’t comprehend the reasoning behind the above statements... you aren’t paying attention.

What is it about people like McCain, O. Snow, S. Collins, Brown and others, even Newt sometimes, that insist on calling themselves Republicans while working without rest to undermine the most basic Republican efforts to carry out the party’s mission?

I used to think RP was a Libertarian. I think I was wrong. Now I think he’s a small government Leftist.

Didn’t read the article. Don’t support Paul. But I’m beginning to agree with that sentiment.

I think the term “RINO” needs to be abolished. I think it generally means a non-conservative Republican and it also implies that a “normal” Republican IS conservative. I don’t think that is the case anymore...if it ever was.

I want to play devil’s advocate here.

To start with, America has gone to hell in a handbasket not only from the actions of Democrats, though they led the charge, but from Republicans, who were right there with the Democrats every step of the way.

And given some superb consolidation of power, in which the Republicans controlled the presidency, the senate, *and* the house, did they reverse any of this insanity?

No, not one bit. They continued on, driving the country off the cliff, their sole difference being they wanted to aim for different jagged rocks below than did the Democrats.

If this is what the Republicans stand for, then with clear eyes we need to see that they are no different than the Democrats.

“Radical cuts” proposed by some Republican a day or two ago, of the “100 most wasteful government programs”, would only amount to a dozen *billion* dollars. Which is just nothing compared to the real waste.

Real cuts *start* at 1 TRILLION dollars (out of $3.5T) from the budget.

Real “Radical cuts” to the federal budget would mean firing HALF of non-military federal employees *and* ENDING a dozen major federal agencies, *and* slashing the remainder’s budgets by 30% across the board.

THAT would be “radical”, but THAT is what is needed.

None of the other Republican candidates has proposed any real cuts at all. Ron Paul comes closest, but his cuts are an “axe in the dark”, and not particularly practical or well thought out.

BUT THIS IS STILL BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING, which is what the other Republican candidates are promising.

Seriously, the most important debate question that could be asked of any of them is a simple one: “By what PERCENT should the federal government be reduced?”

They would stare at you like a deer in the headlights. Because not a single one of them have proposed or advocated even marginal cuts.

Because NONE of them believe real cuts are needed. Maybe a light trim, here and there. But nothing substantial.

Is Ron Paul a kook? Certainly. But since nominating totally “reasonable” turkeys, like Bob Dole and John McCain, or, to put it bluntly, someone like W. Bush who has turned America into a paranoid police state, creating an immense security apparatus to control the public, not terrorists as it was supposed to do, WE NEED A BREAK.

Enough with the police state. Enough with spending money like it was water. Enough giving money to anyone and everyone for everything. Enough already!

So why won’t a SANE conservative stand up and say this?

“Vote for me and I will cut the size of government a lot, not just the rate of growth of the government.”

Is that so radical? Then why hasn’t anybody done it?

I blame both parties for very very bad policy.
RP is in one of them, but they are two sides of the same coin.

Ron Paul is like that kooky uncle everyone can’t wait to listen to during the holidays and then talk about, at length, how loony he is after he leaves.

I still don’t understand why he is allowed to participate in republican debates. He left the party years ago. Why does he have a platform with the party now?

First of all, there is currently a one party system in these United States, Secondly, Ron Paul may say a lot of interesting things, things which both his supporters and enemies enjoy repeating, but he cannot be elected in the current climate of brainwashed TV watching people who an incapable of thinking for themselves. Thirdly we cannot just pull out of everywhere, especially now that the Muslim Brotherhood is taking over the Arab World. What a mess we are in! We need to get back to taking money from companies that want to take advantage of cheap labor in China instead of expecting the American people to pay for all this international adventurism.

Ron Paul would make for a useful protest vote. The rest of the Republican field is nothing to brag about. I think we may have to have a brokered convention.
