Bob Casey is the worst Senator and LAZY to boot...that Pennsylvania has ever had...
He is hiding under a rock somewhere and comes out occasionally..we need a strong candidate for his job and no one is coming forward...why does not Rick try to reclaim that job????? makes me wonder about Santorum...
To: GraceG; johnthebaptistmoore
Santorum is the textbook definition of Nice Guys Finishing Last
The funny thing here is that Santorum is being trashed as "too nice" and "too arrogant" on the same thread. That says to me he's probably just about right.
I do understand the charge that he is not polished enough. That said, I think he's come a long way in the debates. Unlike some of the others, he has continued to grow and improve with time and experience.
Plus -- and this is a big plus -- he drives the amoral left apoplectic. Like Sarah Palin, Rick's got all the right enemies. Unlike Sarah, he's actually putting it all out there and running.

so....
message to Rick Santorum...
give up this POTUS try and fight for your old Senate seat back, Bob Casey is weak...go for that position, cause you will not get President...
Get in the Senate and fight for Pennsylvania...that is a position you could win...
To: haircutter
Rick Santorum running for ‘12 U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania makes sense, IMHO, but I’m not so sure that Rick can win such a race in politically unstable Pennsylvania. In fact, if Rick does end up as the final ‘12 GOP POTUS candidate, then I’m not so sure that Rick will be able to carry Pennsylvania during the November ‘12 general election!

Rick is a good guy. Unlike a lot of Pennsylvania conservatives, I forgive him for the indiscretion of supporting Specter over Toomey in the 2004 primary. He was chairman of the Republican Senate Election committee and being a good soldier and taking orders from Bush and Rove.
A bad move, to be sure. But it doesn't wipe out the years of good he did serving in congress.
My biggest fear is electability. He couldn't even crack 40% in his reelection bid against the empty suit Bob Casey, the dumbest guy with a penis in the U.S. Senate.
If he can pull off an upset in Iowa, people may be willing to take a second look.

Today on his show, Rush gave quite a nice endorsement for Santorum. Not a endorsement in the traditional sense but very warm, kind words on his behalf.

>>>The only two things that can be held against him was his support (via pressure from the GOP establishment) of Specter over Toomey in the 2004 Republican primaries in Pa.
He’s explained that for anyone in Iowa that’s bothered to listen... yeah, it was to go along with the establishment... and - he’s said it was all about the judiciary committee... had Specter not been there, the appointments made during that time may not have succeeded - Roberts and Alito. I’m not going to quibble on that.

I'd happily support Santorum (or Bachmann, or Cain, or Palin) as such a nomination would be indicative of a swing in government back to "of the people, by the people, for the people". Candidates of this caliber drive the liberals with their hands held out looking for their free goodies crazy. Likewise they drive the elitist republican country club types who view themselves as the contemporary bourgeoisie equally mad. This to me, a joe-the-plumber type citizen, is a win. A big win. I don't see that impact coming from any of the other candidates at present. Not even with Gingrich. Though he is not a friend of the current bourgeoisie, I fear he'd be all to pleased to start his own country club. We need to determine who best to write-in when the GOP hands us Romney on the ballot. If that candidate is Santorum, I'm fine with it and totally on-board. The same goes for Bachmann, Palin, and Cain. It'll be a battle to talk me into any one else at present.

He has my support, not that it will likely matter by the time we vote here.

Mark Levin said that if he had to vote for someone in a Virginia primary today, the home of his “bunker”, it would be Bachmann or Santorum. And, he based that on solely on “character” or what someone will do (and it will happen) when the 2 AM call comes in. That’s good enough for me. A man with 7 kids has to have some strong compass or he’d go raving mad! Finally, I think Rick is doubling down in Iowa.

What's not to like?
The fact that he threw Toomey UNDER the bus against Spector, that is the only bad thing about him.

" This is going to be Huckabee all over again, all he is doing is getting Romney the nomination. "
Santorum was not a governor who let out convicts who killed people.
Also, Rick Santorum does not come across as like Huck who is only social conservative, but, liberal everything else.

" His personality. "
What is it about his personality that you don't like ?
Is it because he is not , well ? Charismatic ?
We don't need no charming bull crapping charmer for president, no thank you.

And Toomey then proceeded to throw conservatives under the bus by supporting the homosexualization of the military.
Sorry, that dog doesn't hunt any more.

Yeah, those who are supporting another supposed conservative candidate , to them ? it's more of a big sin that Rick Santorum didn't support Toomey, but, let's forget about the inconvenient fact that Toomey supported gays in the military.

I agree with all you’re saying but Santorum may have some ‘splain to do over this BVP endorsement. I wouldn’t have wanted it if I were Santorum.
