Collecting FICA is not linked to paying Social Security.
Well let’s be clear about what FICA is SUPPOSED to be funding directly into the SS trust fund— if indeed what you meant by your comment is that SS does not get the money because it gets diverted to general revenue. If you didn’t mean that, then respectfully you do not know what you are talking about.
Here is what the US Government defines FICA as:
” The Federal Insurance Contributions Act (FICA) tax is a United States payroll (or employment) tax imposed by the federal government on both employees and employers to fund Social Security and Medicare.”
The sheer hilarity of this legalistic language mumbo jumbo is that a “TAX” has an official act of Congress title of being a “CONTRIBUTION”!! A contribution would be a voluntary giving of money—taxes are not voluntary. This is all part of the great lie that is our lying government and in particular Congress and our present-dent. This is also why asshat democrats and the stupid people of this country would think that cutting a “contribution” to the failing (raided upon) SS trust fund could be called a tax cut, when in reality it is one more blow to the proper funding of the so called trust fund.
At some point, you will hear democrats talking about how republicans want to destroy SS— because they supported what the democrats ARE doing- destroying medicare.
The whole reason this turnaround happened was because of the reduced payments to physicians— pure and simple. In any case our debt has been raised further, and employment by employers again stymied.
