A funny thing happened on my way to shop at Target yesterday: there was no Salvation Army guy with the little red kettle collecting money! What gives?

Anyone who changes their behavior in response to the demands of LGBT deserves to be boycotted.

Only some bitter fringe group could even think of boycotting the Salvation Army.

Target does not allow solicitors of any cause, the use of their commercially owned property.
Period.
No Girl Scout cookie stand, no free puppy/kitten stand, no local school kids lemonade or carwash fundraiser stands, no political protests, and no Salvation Army kettles.

Stop pretending the Salvation Army was singled out to be banned from soliciting for donations.

I like when people sell cookies.

I like when there is a crawfish boil

I like when folks sell BBQ sandwiches.

I was at the store on Veterans day, gave the dollar for the poppy flower and the old WWII guy thanked ME for my service LoL

I don’t know how he knew, but he just did.

I do it also, when paying my bills online.

Keep your charity away from the middleman.

I like those things too.

My local Publix supermarket allows lots of that on their property, including Salvation Army kettles. I only carry cash around this time of year, so I can put a dollar into every kettle I pass.
It works out to be about twenty dollars, one dollar at a time.

Target does not allow solicitors.
I enjoy that too.

It is a bit of a muddle.

I like community stuff that is sincere and bright.
But one must admit that sometimes non animated folks fronting charity arms are a pain in the wazoo.

I tend to be very accepting if the event makes the community vibrant.

The Salvation Army now has exceptions for abortion, including unborn babies with abnormalities. Read the threads right here on FR.

If that ain’t the truth. Many, many and many years ago at the tender age of 21; I was working for a UW agency. My boss and I had just completed the years books and were thrilled to find we had saved money. I drove excitedly to the UW headquarters to deliver the unspent money. Boy, was I in for a shock. Not only did they reject the check; they told me in the middle of the lobby or rather shouted at me in the middle of the lobby; we would be receiving a lower amount of money the following year. Apparently saving money is not in the budget.
