Assad isn’t predictable at this juncture...no telling what extremes he will go to retain power....but likely he’ll do something big enough to give those pause who are attempting to take him out.
The real war is between Iran and the US playing out in Syria....Iran needs Syria..without Syria you can bet money Iran will be hosting many more meetings with Putin once he's back in office..and he will be seated...you can count on that.
Then we have the change of Rule in N.Korea....which is really about China and the US.
Further aggrivating both of these is an administration who is absent...at best...and more than foolish when engaged.
If I recall correctly we know where it is as well.....one of the reasons Bush didn't ‘t announce the actual finds that were in Iraq, and that they were tracking the WMD which were being sent to Syria, was the administration then didn't want their whereabouts to be known by those who would attempt to get them during or after the height of the war.
