Yisrael Katz: Israeli Sovereignty in Judea and Samaria

Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz called, Thursday, for Israeli law to be applied in Judea and Samaria and to cut off relations with the Palestinian Authority (PA). Responding to reports about Hamas entering the Palestine Liberation Organization, the parent to the PA, the Likud lawmaker said, "Recently I heard that Hamas celebrated its 30th anniversary and that it was proud it had murdered 1,350 Jews. I have not heard of people who celebrate the murder of Jews since the period of the Nazis."

During a ceremony in Karnei Shomron, in which he was given honory citizenship of the town and named a notable person by the settlement enterprise, Katz said that he had asked the management of the Israel Railways to speed up construction of the line from central Israel to the Tapuach Junction via the Samarian city of Ariel and to make life for Jews in Judea and Samaria as normal as possible. In accepting his recognition, he called those in attendance "the Maccabees of today".

Doesn’t Cohen indicate descent from Aaron? Is Tzedek any relation to the Zadokites? I may name my next cat Cohen-Tzedek then, though I won’t have him circumized since I am Christian and the cat would most likely be religiously ambivalent.
