1. The two leave their home and pursue the home invaders, start a fight but are not charged?
2. The three who broke in are charged with intent to commit larceny? What were they going to steal?
3. When I took my conceal carry course, we were told we could only use force to protect our selves from imminent danger. Is chasing down someone who invaded your home and starting a fight, "imminent danger"?
4. Is race a factor here? (probably not) The three arrested --the home invaders-- are white, the two not arrested --the vigilantes -- are black.
I don't see a problem here just from the excerpt. The Little White Hsits (Reference James Earl Jones in Soul Man) had it coming if you ax me.

Nope, race is not a factor. Blacksburg loves their Hokies especially the fooball team. They also do what is right and dont try to protect any criminal activity. The field goal kicker plays a prominent role on the Hokie football team who will play in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 3. The team needs this player but now he won’t be playing and rightly so.
Probably more investgation will be done on the basketball players. They did not have a weapon, it sounds like.
Forgot to mention, the football player and his friend did have a weapon and that is why it is more serious.

To be honest none of them should be playing. VA Tech doesn’t deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl this year. Their play on the field wasn’t good enough.
You could be right but if one is a Hokie fan such as I, then I have to say we were honored to be invited. You expect us to say no thanks? LOL
Hopefully, we can surpise you. We do need our field goal kicker, however, and that is a great loss and a big downer right before the game for the team.
I agree with you. All should be charged. None should play.
It’s a dangerous precedent to let them pursue and attack. (Although I would prefer to take the law into my own hands if it were acceptable and legal.)
Is an “airsoft pistol” a weapon?
I don’t agree that Tech doesn’t deserve to be in the Sugar Bowl, but that’s a topic for another thread. If 4 of their 5 defensive starters that have been on the injured list recover by Jan 3, you may be surprised.
Who knows, Danny Coale might be kicking field goals now as well as punting - the guy is amazing. :-)
