Guessing you either have a decent income and/or don't live in the north east.
Guess what - I wear "layers", use a lap robe and wear my sheepskin slippers - because I keep my thermostat at no higher than 68 in the daytime and 60 at night. I don't heat my bedroom or office in the winter. In the northern most state, it gets damn cold. A few years ago, I could heat my house on $500. Now - if I could afford to have my house comfortable - it would cost up to $2,500. My income, however, has not gone up.
Must be nice to be high and mighty.
