Herman Cain: A Final Word (I just did not like the way the whole "Cain thing" went down)
American Thinker ^ | 12/26/2011 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 12/26/2011 6:36:16 AM PST by SeekAndFind

I would not blame Herman Cain if he said, Lloyd, I know you mean well, brother. However, the relentless vitriolic media attacks against me have finally subsided since I dropped out of the presidential race. My family and I are finally having some peace. So why on earth would you bring up my name again?

Well, in a nutshell, I just did not like the way the whole "Cain thing" went down. Also, we live in a fast-paced news cycle, "carelessly nuke a person's life and in two days everyone has moved on," disposable world. Herman Cain's courageous bid to serve his country deserves more than "Cain...wasn't he the black dude sex fanatic who ran for president as a Republican?"

OK, Cain is gone, and we conservatives must focus on selecting our candidate to defeat Obama in 2012. I got it. But it breaks my heart, seeing what happened to this "good man." Cain was attacked from both sides of the aisle. A few conservative pundits even accused Cain of not seriously seeking the Oval Office, but instead simply seeking self-promotion.

Please do not get me wrong. I realize that playing with the big boys in the national arena is tough. I just did not realize how much tougher and how blatantly unfair it is for conservatives. As a conservative seeking to win the Republican presidential nomination, Cain endured a deep rectal vetting not required even of our current president. As a matter of fact, we still know very little about Obama's history.

Gosh, I love ya Marcus, but what killed Cain was his refusal to deny the Ginger White stuff.
Then he just quit.
No one seriously believed Sharon Bialek, and as to the others there was no proof since the records were sealed.

Mr Cain gave validity to the Ginger White thing, that’s what did him in.
The appearance of impropriety.

See a pattern, yet? Attacked from both sides of the aisle?

Eliminated from play?

Chicago methodology at work, eliminate all the competitors.

Alleged bimbos aside, I'd still vote for Cain if he was in.

No, in other words, nobody proved a darn thing and Cain was treated to a mugging by nefarious thugs who bought liars off to lie about Herman Cain all the while Mr. Nobody is reigning in the Oval Office COMPLETELY UNINVESTIGATED.

Who are you? You drank the koolaid.

Yes, when after Cain hired the most feared lawyer in the land, Cain then went into silence and not one suit flew - I realized what that meant, and took the “Yes We Cain” sticker off my car.

If Palin had entered this race, none of this would be happening right now.

I still strongly believe she should in fact run.

Even now Palin could win this thing. We’d all be a lot better for it, if she did.

Do you honestly believe HC is the innocent goody two shoes he made himself out to be???Yes, the media is not investigating the annointed ONE, but it seems some citizens are doing just that. But anyone who think HC was presidential material was doing just that, drinking the koolade!

I think most people don’t realize that anyone may be “Cained”, and too many people withdrew their support from him, which was a shame. He could have handled it better, and I don’t know if we’ll ever know the truth, but he was a danger because he wasn’t a black man holding out an upturned empty hand to white America - he was holding out ideas to all Americans.

He was TOO MUCH of an “anti-Obama” (including being “100% black”), and drew fire as such.

I believe Lloyd is describing perfectly how the media eagerly destroyed Herman Cain with dumpster diving for dirt.

Herman has lived an unusual life of accomplishment and a not-so-unusual life for a successful man in a post-womens’lib America.

Today - sexual predators wear pant suits and skirts and offer themselves to the highest bidder. They also lie.

Decent men don’t often see the threat - until it’s too late.

hey there, whether he was mugged and whether he was presidential material are TWO SEPARATE AND DISTINCT ISSUES.

Herman Cain was mugged by those who believe a black shouldn’t be ALLOWED to be conservative. Period.

So much for political freedom in the country.

When Herman responded to the Ginger white thing by admitting he knew her for 13 years, was supporting her financially without the wifes knowledge and then responded to the story by saying repeatedly, the well parsed words: “MANY of these allegations are untrue”

I knew it was over.

it breaks my heart, seeing what happened to this "good man."

It broke my heart also, but for an entirely different reason: I was loyal to Herman Cain, but, if you’re innocent, you stand and fight. You face your accusers.... you get mad as hell and face the world with confidence that your name will be cleared. Take the fight to your oppressor. But, no, he threw in the towel and ran and hid behind his wife and God. If he can't stand up to Gloria Allred and 3 old broads, how is he gonna stand up to China, Iran and North Korea? And, when you’re giving money secretly to a woman and your wife knows nothing about it...... HELLO.....

Herman acted guilty from the get-go. He did not handle this thing well. He had 10 days advance notice that Politico was going ahead with this story, and, he did nothing. Some have asked: Why have we not heard a peep out of the women? Probably because he took the money that I, and many others, sent for his campaign and paid them off. If you are truly innocent of the charges against you, you stand and fight!!! He did not do that. I FEEL BETRAYED AND I'M MAD AS HELL!!!

Amen! I for one am terribly disturbed at the way such accusations got ground with absolutley no basis of verifiable facts. It seemed to me to be a collusion of both sides to prevent an “outsider” from breaking into the ranks of of big boy politics. As long as that can happen, we will never get our country straightened out.

Herman Cain, knowing what he was involved in, should have never entered the race and by so doing so, dirtied the conservative grass roots movement.

Good Lord. He’s back? . And who cares? Since he’s an experienced talk show guy, I’m sure Rush will have him as a guest host or something. Then there are the Hannity Freedom Concerts. Books anyone? Speakers tour. The cult he commanded, the one that ripped apart other candidates in his name, will make him richer . The cult he encouraged, the one that steadfastly said they would not vote for another candidate if he lost, will continue to think somebody else brought him down. They’ll never think it was he who brought himself down. I envision a new board game by next Christmas. Wearing that all too familiar hat and singing gospel music, his likeness will pop up in a variety of places. We’ll call it, Where’s Herman..

As a 66 year old, black man, I knew that Cain was guilty as soon as I laid eyes on Ginger. You see, back in the day, she would have been called, “a high yellow, black child”. Believe me, they got all of the attention. And, I have to admit, they still get my attention.

And look at the candidates we have left.

Whether you supported Rev. Cain or not, at least he was a CHOICE. Powerful people conspired to take that choice away from us and they have succeeded in leaving us with contenders that fit whatever mold they have decided upon, not what the masses might want. No matter who we vote for now, he or she will be the party”s candidate, not ours That does not bode well for the future of this republic.

Powerful people made him put out some really confusing, contradictory information about this potential "other woman"? I don't think so.

He had an opportunity, once this woman was made public. to set the record straight, regardless of what the story was. He completely screwed it, and he deserved to lose support for it.
