You are correct. This was all agreed to before-this is just the 2nd tranch so to speak. Course the whole thing was predicated on cost reductions being achieved by the “select” committee - which we know was an abismal failure. All this A Team has done is explore new types of taxes, reduce the rate of spending increases, and push spending to out years so politically no one is offended.

The whole thing is just smoke and mirrors. Fact is that our politicians -ALL of them - do not have the guts to actually cut programs/costs, fire people, or otherwise stand up to the growing federal beurocracy.

Without control of both houses and the presidency, the best we can hope for is for the house to defund agencies like there is no tomorrow. If we don’t stop this drunken spree, the dollar won’t be worth a pot of warm spit.

Congress has to vote to stop it, but Obama is free to veto that law and raise it anyway without the consent of Congress. What a bunch of incompetents to allow that scenario to be set up.
