Marching Orders for Paul’s Volunteers: Do Shave, Don’t Tweet
New York Times ^ | 12/29/11 | RICHARD A. OPPEL Jr.

Posted on 12/29/2011 4:47:36 AM PST by BCrago66

Ron Paul’s college-aged volunteer army — a core of the powerful ground organization that is the envy of rivals — is descending on Iowa from around the nation to coax people to the state’s Republican caucuses as he seeks to pull off what only months ago seemed like an unthinkable victory here on Tuesday.

You don’t know how to think, how to argue, how to respond when confronted with actual facts. Like a obedient little underling, you just keep repeating your mantra to quiet your own anxiety...

(Internal dialog: “Oh no, more evidence that Ron Paul’s a whackjob...um..RINO Statist! RINO Statist!)

Here’s Ron Paul supporting a Congressional investigation to see if the US physically executed the 9-11 attack on the World Trade Center:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d91a13Yr3oQ

Here’s Ron Paul calling Bradley Manning - the guy who leaked thousands of American military and diplomatic secrets, getting American & our allied killed - a “true patriot”:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8pbSCT2SE6U

Here’s Paul stating that it looks like Gov. Rick Perry is meeting with the Bildebergers, as part of the international conspiracy to control our currency & natural resources:

The anxiety is creeping up again, Kinzua.

To make yourself feel better, I suggest you chant “RINO Statist” 100 times, like a good mind-numbed cultist.

There is no Alinsky style smear job. All one has to do is QUOTE Ron Paul and it's obvious that he is NOT a conservative nor Presidential material. You also failed to address his age. Old Kook won't cut it. We need someone that is conservative. NOT libertarian.

Ron Paul On the Issues

Wartime brainwashing that Islam is inherently warlike. (Apr 2011)
We're endangered as a result of our foreign policy. (Apr 2011)
We manufactured fear about Saddam, Al Qaeda, & Ahmadinejad. (Apr 2011)

Ron Paul is an old, dangerous KOOK!

I don’t believe Ron Paul is truly in charge of his campaign. Observing his debates he is too scatterbrained.

There are some powerful string pullers fomenting his ‘yutes’. Probably a bunch of anarchists more than libertarians.

Just along for the ride and the rewards ($$$$$$).

I can believe that. He appears to know nothing about Islam or the Qu’ran.

Paultard 01: How far is it to Iowa?

Paultard 02: Uh.. not sure. Did you tell your Mom you were going?

Paultard 01: Um not really. She was mad already that I didn’t clean the basement. She freaked when she saw my bong out on the table. She can be really tyrannical, typical statist, she was griping that she wants some rent from me. She isn’t very freedom minded.

Paultard 02: Well she just doesn’t understand. She sounds like a neocon. When Ron Paul becomes President drugs will be legal and then the real Revolution will begin.

No Milquetoast RINO for me... I’m not settling this Time.

So instead of settling, you plan to vote for a loon instead? You plan to vote for a guy who thinks gender troubled traitor Bradley Manning is a patriot and a hero? Do you believe we still need to "find the truth" about 9-11 because the US government may have been behind it? Do you think Bush was happy about 9-11 because it gave him an excuse to attack Iraq? Are you staying up late at night quivering in your boots about Bilderberg Group conspiracies?

Sorry, no one is smearing Paul. Just the opposite actually, he's been given a free pass for far too long. RP's problem is that he is a conspiracy nut with naive isolationist foreign and defense policy views. Does he have some good things to say about domestic economic issues? Yup. Unfortunately with Paul, the REALLY bad ideas and conspiratorial thinking are just too nutty and dangerous to ever consider voting for him.

"conspiratorial"

Many years ago I used to work with a guy who hated Israel and Jews. He actually got kicked out of the John Birch Society because he was too radical even for them. He used to show me issues of this nutty, far far out (into outer space) rag called "Spotlight." It was reading that rag I discovered how the evil Jews and Israelis (gasp, horror!) were conspiring to conquer the world. Every time I see Ron Paul and read his opinions, I think of that nutty rag.

Thanks for your insight and generous helping of your own outstanding intellect and debate.

The Old fella is forcing the conversation to the right.

Thanks for a relatively civilized response.

How is the vote by the pervert Paul to force homosexuality on our military bringing the conversation to the right? How is Paul’s insistence on blaming America for terrorism and his insistence on fighting for the rights of Islamic dictatorships to nuclear weapons forcing the discussion to the right?

The pervert Paul corrupts conservatism and is a full blown Code Pink leftist.

I am offended by comments like this one reported by the New York Times:

“Mr. Lucente, a 19-year-old from Ithaca who is a sophomore at Alfred University, said the Republican Party had been hijacked by a “social conservative war party” that had lost sight of the “idea that the government should be out of the way,” one of Mr. Paul’s abiding principles.”

Many Iowans will also be offended. (I used to be one, and have more than two decades of dealing with the state even when I wasn't a resident.) Things like this may help make clear the difference between libertarian principles and conservative principles.

One good thing about this is maybe Ron Paul's pro-business approach will help these young volunteers learn the importance of professional appearance that will be important in getting a job once Paul's campaign is over.

Example: “Even before flying here on their own nickel, some students said they had been instructed to cover up tattoos and told that their faces should be fresh-shaved or beards neatly trimmed, wearing only nice clothes that one described as “business casual.””

I like that instruction. Ron Paul isn't wrong about everything, but he shouldn't even be running for the presidency.

(Exception here for military tattoos. I don't encourage tattoos of any sort, and neither does the modern military, but if you're willing to carry a rifle for our country, I don't think I ought to object to you paying someone to inject ink in your arm. That's the servicemembers’ choice and I'll respect their choice.)
