Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- One man is dead after an attempted robbery at a Cash America SuperPawn in the Centennial Hills area on Wednesday morning.
Sources say that a man entered the store, near North Durango Drive and Elkhorn Road, with a gun at about 9:30 a.m.
One employee fired a gun in a confrontation with the would-be robber. Police were called to the scene, where they discovered a black adult male dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities have not released the identity of the employee or the suspect who was shot. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
SuperPawn released a statement following the incident.
"At SuperPawn, our first concern is for the safety of our customers and coworkers," a company spokesperson said. "Currently, we are fully cooperating with authorities to sort through the details of this unfortunate incident."
Action News will update this story as more information becomes available.
Another fine Diversity On The Rampage THWARTED!!!
Will the employee working there be fired? I hope not.
New slogan for this pawn shop:
SuperPawn has super shots who’ll kill you super dead if suddenly become super stupid!
Which one’s Will?
You should find a FReeper in your area who will meet you at the local range and teach you how to use one.
See post 8.
The bad guy pulled out his gun and was immediately faced with several guns pointed at him from several directions.
Oddly enough no shots were fired and he lived. He threw his gun down and his hands up.
I always use that response for a laugh whenever that command is given.
I have my head up my butt working and lurking ;D!
Happy New Year to you FRiend!
Fewer criminals equals less crime...
LOL - sounds like the start of a 'farmer's daughter' joke...
Happy New Year to you and every other FReeper here!
I always thought the mostly likely place to be killed by head shots, for attempted robbery, would be at a gun show. Pawn shop would be second.
Well, that’s one fewer member of the Free Sh*t Army that we have to provide an EBT card for.
I agree with you! Mr. hocndoc and I have a great relationship: he gets queasy in hospitals, I do when I see guns.
(Not all of our stores sell guns, btw.)
In my coin buying/collecting years I used to go to the coin shows, they were always held with the gun shows. There were some very expensive coins bought and sold at those shows and I never heard of one being robbed. There's a reason for that. At least every other booth was a gun booth and all were armed. many of the coin dealers as well.

Yeah, you’re right. I forgot about gun shows!
