WASHINGTON — Four-star general-turned-CIA director David Petraeus almost resigned as Afghanistan war commander over President Barack Obama's decision to quickly draw down surge forces, according to a new insider's look at Petraeus' 37-year Army career. Petraeus decided that resigning would be a "selfish, grandstanding move with huge political ramifications" and that now was "time to salute and carry on," according to a forthcoming biography. Author and Petraeus confidante Paula Broadwell had extensive access to the general in Afghanistan and Washington

No, but the Brit General jackson had potential

In 1994, Jackson served his first tour in the Balkans, where he commanded a multi-national division of the Implementation Force. Following a staff job back in the UK, he was appointed commander of NATO's Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) in 1997. He returned to the Balkans with the ARRC during the Kosovo War, during which he famously refused to obey an order from American General Wesley Clark, his immediate superior in the NATO chain of command, to block the runways of Pristina Airport and isolate the Russian contingent that was positioned there. He reportedly told Clark "I'm not going to start the Third World War for you". The incident attracted controversy, particularly in the United States, and earned Jackson the nickname "Macho Jacko" in the British tabloid press. Jackson established a working relationship with the Russian general commanding the detachment at Pristina, giving him a bottle of whisky, of which Jackson is known to be fond, and providing the Russians with the protection of a squad of British soldiers, commanded by his son, Mark.

Who cares what he “almost did”. History only counts what you do.

What would George Patton do?
What would Dwight Eisenhower do?
What would US Grant do?
What would George Washington do?
What would Robert E. Lee do?
What would Douglas MacArthur do?

Sadly, even generals get rolled.

Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. He should’ve quit.

The ONLY reason for these men not to quit, and I respect them all, is that Hussein would replace them immediately with HUGE pussies in uniform, ones that would lick his boots obediently.

Now, these guys COULD be feeding some right wing Congressmen with some inside info about Hussein’s disastrous decision making...

Petraeus is another powered prince who should have been fired after his 3 Cups of Tea disaster of COIN in AfPak. But now the Turd is stabbing us from the CIA position. FU Petraeus!

I am aware of the incident and the courage necessary to confront Wesley the Weasel Clark, and the Bent One in Chief.

The NATO Serbia/Kosovo massacre of Slavs is the incident that hardened Putin's determination against America and his ongoing policy of public humiliation of American political interests in Eastern Europe.

It ain't over yet.
