Iowa Rep. Steve King: Gingrich Better Candidate Than Romney

Although Iowa Rep. Steve King is holding back his coveted political endorsement with only days to go before his state’s first-in-the-nation caucuses, he tells Newsmax that he almost certainly would choose former House Speaker Newt Gingrich over former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

Describing Gingrich as a “brilliant man, who generates all kinds of ideas,” King said pundits will be talking about Gingrich’s debate performances in future elections.

“I think a lot of Speaker Gingrich, and there would have to be some discipline on the myriad of ideas that he brings to the table. But that’s what Congress is for,” King said.

However, it is becoming less likely he will make a formal endorsement of any GOP presidential candidates before Tuesday’s caucuses, the conservative Republican told Newsmax in an exclusive interview today.

Snip:

"...this race must be about a full 100 percent repeal of Obamacare. I give the nod to Gingrich in that particular contest.”

Go NEWT!

I hope all these guys like King are happy when Romney wins and they look back and realize they didn’t do anything to try and prevent it.

I’m probably wrong but see the “powers that be” of the GOP have chosen Romney in 2012. They and media calls the shots. We can disagree on this, as do I, but that’s the way it is.

Have they made another agreement with the Dems as was made in 2008 with McCain?

Someday most Americans will fully understand that we’re manipulated puppets by our two parties, as they are way too controllable by the few. We need more than just two parties to provide a more honest political representation. Currently black and white is not a real choice.

Yep, it’s clear that the main stream media, the GOP establishment and some Talk Show Radio Hosts all favor Mitt Romney...I dont’ think Rush is in this corner, but I sure wish he would put his radio show on the line and do what he’s not ever done before: endorse a candidate now and make it so we rally around 1 conservative who can take Obama down and out for the count in November. It sure seems clear to me that Newt could use a powerful ally and Rush sure has the heavy lifting in audience to help him if he so chose. Just a Money bomb to Newt’s campaign would help tremendously.
