Bachmann campaign loses second key staffer in Ron Paul flap

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign lost another high-ranking staff member on Thursday after that staffer defended another former Bachmann official's defection to a rival campaign. Wes Enos, Bachmann's political director, has left the campaign, spokeswoman Alice Stewart confirmed to NBC News on Thursday evening. The resignation comes on the heels of last night's announcement by Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson, who had served as Bachmann's Iowa chairman, that he had stepped down from that position to support Texas Rep. Ron Paul's campaign instead. Yesterday, Enos publicly defended Sorenson, an Iowa state Senator, against charges voiced by Bachmann that Sorenson had accepted money from the Paul campaign, in violation of state law. (This narrative is disputed by Sorenson himself.) "I can't in good conscious watch a good man like Kent Sorenson be attacked as a sell-out," Enos told NBC News on Wednesday night, insisting that Sorenson felt personal loyalty to colleagues in the state legislature backing Paul.

Why would anybody expect rational behavior from anyone crazy enough to work for either Bachmann or Paul?

There's enough nuts in those camps from the candidates on down to keep the guys with the butterfly nets and straight jackets busy for years.

No true conservative would work for the IRS.

“She will have a tough time getting reelected. Fund raising is going to be a problem. She transferred big bucks from her congressional war chest and during her scorched earth campaign has pissed off the very people she is going to need to fund another congressional run.”

Truer words were never written. Kamikazes at least had a purpose.

She looked very desperate on CNN today and wouldn't answer when Wolf pressed her about Enos. After watching this I think her campaign is in melt-down mode:

‘xactly.

I think the big question is: is there a Republican in the race who can help us get to 60 in the Senate?

OK ... where are the margin Senate races, the one’s we’d need to not only take the Senate, but to take the Senate with a huge margin?

Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Missouri, Montana, Virginia, Florida, New Mexico, Hawaii, Wisconsin and retaining Massachusetts

(I think we’ve got Nebraska and North Dakota in the bag)

These states mostly range from purple to blue.

Here is what I think. The candidate matters less this time around. It is the American people’s election.

What I mean by this is that, imo, if the Tea party can keep itself loosely united, without fracturing and can keep to the basics, it can have a positive effect in every electoral district from sea to sea.

You do need to look at every seat, whether congressional or state, as a battle for America. Look upon it as every seat won for the establishment as a real loss.

If you can do that, I really do believe you can win and I mean that sincerely.

Her campaign is inept. She surrounded herself with self-serving consultants like Ed Rollins.

Most of Gingrich's top staff quit, and he has failed to get on ballots in at least two states. What does that say about an inept campaign?

In his statement, he said he wasn’t leaving. I guess he was forced out for disloyalty?

About the same. Notice his dive in the polls.

Unfortunately for me, the Tennessee primary is so far down the list the nominee is close to being picked by that time.
And TN voters like “names” and I’m sure will go 50-60% for Romney.

I’ll end up voting for the best conservative, so for now it’s Santorum. Really won’t matter who I vote for in the primary.
