You have a stunningly silly view of corporate governance.

>>As the CEO Hurd could set, modify or nullify corporate policy as he saw fit, most certainly as it pertained to the use of a corporate computer.<<

First off, you don't know what you're talking about. A CEO would NOT modify corp policy especially when it pertains to the viewing inappropriate content to cover for his own misdeeds. Absolutely an absurd statement to make.

Secondly, Hurd was caught red handed falsifying expense statements relating to the grooming of Fischer in hopes of a sexual encounter. This is no different than STEALING.

It's an integrity issue with regards to corporate policy. If the board hit Hurd in the pocket rather than the action they took, the integrity of corporate policy would have been negated, leading to further declines in morale corporate wide.

Lastly, Hurd was hired by his best friend, Larry Ellison. These guys are like two peas in a pod. On the open market, few would have touched Hurd, least wise while the allegations of sexual misconduct was still fresh. No surprises there.

>Viewing inappropriate sexual content on corporate assets
>Stealing from the company by falsifying expense statements
>Grooming a subordinate for sexual encounter
>Divulging plans for a corporate acquisition (EDS) to an unauthorized person is a violation of corporate policy.

Hurd did it to himself and you haven't a clue, evidenced by your sophomoric defense of what really amounts to corruption.

You have no idea what you are talking about. The CEO can modify any policy he desires as long as it doesn’t run counter to law, e.g. he could allow the viewing of porn on company computers but he could not allow the viewing of child porn on company computers and protect employees from the arm of the law.
Hurd wasn’t grooming anyone for a sexual encounter. My understanding is that things had progressed well past that stage, as is often the case in the executive suite.
The board blew up HP by its misdirected decision.
You can ride upon your white horse of indignation but doing so does nothing to lessen the effects of the board’s effects on the corporation.
