Gingrich Floats Sarah Palin As Possible Vice President Pick
Real Clear Politics ^ | 30 December 2011 | RCP

Posted on 12/30/2011 2:34:24 PM PST by Erik Latranyi

Newt Gingrich tells a tele-townhall that Sarah Palin is someone to be considered for the Vice Presidency or Energy Secretary.

Caller: If you’re fortunate enough to be nominated, would you consider having Sarah Palin as your running mate?

Gingrich: She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities.

I think she’d be a great Energy Secretary but it would not last long. All of the cabinet RINO’s would complain she was stealing the spotlight and they would seek someway through leaks etc. to try to undermine her.

Operative word “consider”.

Of course she, along with tons of others, would be considered.
Adding the possibility of her as Energy Sec, has been floated around here for years.

His answer is completely appropriate.

Sarah Palin was made radioactive by the Liberal Media. Same with Newt and all the other candidates except Mitt....until he gets the nomination. Obama will chew Mitt up and spit him out before, during and after a debate.

Hello...it wasn’t Newt that floated Palin’s name. You don’t think Romney and Paul were desparate to spend 10 MILLION bashing ONE man? shows they are the ones insecure. They knew Newt beat them in the debates and polls so they aired lies and smears. If Paul/Romney are the type of men you want to lead this nation...God help America

Maybe, but I don’t think he would have said something like that without having cleared it with Sarah first.

I would like to see the Dept of Energy folded into the Dept of the Interior. That would be ideal for her.

Notice how everyone (else) but Mitt, is constantly slimed?

I sure do.

Yup. Even among the candidates, a couple seem(ed) willing to kamikaze into every other candidate -except- Romney. No one hits little Lord Fauntleroy.

Don’t stress it...many of us responded to the headline first before finding out how RCP had misrepresented this story. You’d like to think you can trust the press, but, alas...

“What’s needed is for our side to not worry about that and support them anyway. Strongly. Ruthlessly.

Attacking the talking points of the left, and taking the message fight to them.”

OOOOH YEAH! Offensive war! Timidity and mush mouthing is why conservatism has steadily lost ground since 1989.

"Second, the media would never let up."

Does the media ever "let up?" Has it ever let up in the past?
Conservatives need to stop fearing the Democrat Party American media establishment. Plaster the media with nothing but contempt. Let the liberals in the media whine and cry about how conservatives don't like them. Then laugh at them and deny that they have any credibility.

I haven’t had a spare second today to read articles or polls. First he’s up, then he’s down. I don’t know what today brought.

Now he seems to be trolling for ‘Tea Party’ votes and Palin would somewhat have to change her ‘values’ to go along with him.

“Then why did she desert the base and refuse to endorse????”

She hasn’t endorsed -yet- CainConservative, and I don’t see how she ‘deserted’ anyone, not being obligated and all. BTW, what is Cain up to these days?

Newt’s VP? Not a chance. The press and Soros’ henchmen went after her and her entire family like bloodhounds trying to tree a possum. Sarah Palin was targeted for destruction by the left and the media for being entirely too Pro-American, Pro-Life, Pro-Christ, Pro traditional family and Pro-Capitalist. These qualities threaten the very fabric of leftism in America and the World today. It wasn’t enough for them to just defeat her - it was also imperative for them to hound her out of the Governor’s office of Alaska... a job she was perfect for. They sent literally hundreds of lawyers just to dream up charges against her and a lecherous, lying con artist of a writer to live next door to her family home. They even tried to burn her church down. I’ll be honest here, the treatment of Sarah Palin by the progs/press was (is) a stain on the American political system that will never, ever wash off. JMHO.

Excellent choice! Now would whoever the nominee is have the nads to investigate F&F,WalpinGate,SolyndraGate and so on and so on... and press charges against Obama and Holder? Or would they do the PC thing and overlook it as all the keys are missing from their keyboards? Obama tried to fry Bush and Cheney. I see Newt as a DC insider that has the poli correctclass to overlook it all.I see Perry as taking action.
