Is it a crime to wish bad karma on someone?

According to my understanding of karma, it isn't even possible. Karma is supposedly earned by one's deeds, not by what anyone else wishes. In any event, publicly wishing that bad things will happen to someone is boorish, not illegal.

“Oh, so you keyed my car. Your karma is going to be a whole lot worse than that.”

Based on this quote, it’s not even a wish.

Not by what anyone else wishes.

Can they book her for writing "whatever goes around comes around"? Isn't that a threat?

I thank G*d my kids went to a school that had an administration with a bit of common sense and that they are now all graduated. Then again, we live in a town and school district that is politically about 80% Republican and the public schools have four different types of private or parochial competition (1 Jesuit, 1 Lutheran, 1 Evangelical, and 1 highly ranked private college prep academy) in a five mile radius.
