My NJ primary is June, and I cannot get too interested or invested in following a January Republican caucus or primary. I can only hope the votes by people in just a few states do not decide the race before March. That is despite awarding delegates proportionately. But I am not going to sit in front of the TV on Tuesday watching the news report. And I am not going then follow the NH coverage.
I am in VA and who knows who is even going to be on the ballot, not to mention I will not sign a Stalinist loyalty oath that I will vote republican. That said, yes, I will follow early contests with interest.
Since Democrats can vote in the Republican Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary, I discount those. Too much chance for hanky-panky.
By June it will be over! Get involved NOW! You can volunteer for your candidate and make phone calls, etc. - check their website.
You may or not remember, but in 1996, on the day of the Iowa Caucus, the Media declared Bill Clinton the winner of the *General Election*, and thereafter covered Bob Dole (”because it was his turn”) as comic relief....
I remember being outraged at the time, but these days, I just see such carryings-on as Democrat Business as Usual....
Georgia is a fairly early voting state and last time our choices were down to Huck McRomney by Super Tuesday. This Iowa / New Hampshire crap needs to end, as well as open primaries everywhere. It’s tough work getting legislators to listen, however.
Our primary in SC is only three weeks away and what Iowa and NH does I doubt will matter to SC voters.
120,000 Iowans who don’t even have to be registered Republicans. Sure, I’ll watch and be curious, but do I put much stock in something that has only marginally more credibility than an online poll? Hardly.
you are correct.. South Carolina picks the nominees.. Iowa is nothing more than a pot luck dinner straw poll and dinky NH is pretty much Romney’s home state.. watch SC.. that has to be where we conservatives consolidate under one guy or Mittens walks away with the prize.. last I heard Newt has a decent lead here
SC yes, IA and NH hell no! Nothing but a shakedown by the states for PORK and to get millions spent by the campaigns in their states.
SC and FL is where the real race begins. My guess, is Newt is reserving his money for SC and Myth is going to make sure that Bachmann runs in SC to stop Newt.
SC and FL are big media action and intense GOTV phone banks.
Whether it's been candidates being slammed by the MSM, negative advertising or the GOP circular firing squad, folks are getting worn out with the constant analysis of the candidates.
Their explaining their flip-flopping, what I meant was, fundamentally, etc. etc. etc. Right now we just want to get rid of Obama and start some positive campaigning for anybody but Obama..

The Iowa primary has turned into a joke. However the media including Fox News and the RINOs will try to spin it that Mitt won and there is no stopping him now. New Hampshire has become a liberal bastion and again with a cross over vote so I discount it. The first true Republican primary will be South Carolina. That will be the one to watch.
My caucus is late in the process and yes I do watch New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina closely because it is those voters really who tell the rest of us who we are allowed to vote for.

I’m with you. Anybody but Obama! Of course we’ll try to get as conservative as the field of players allows but in the end, lets just get to November and vote Obama OUT!
I will pay attention. I doubt it will make a difference to the way I vote...Would like to see Santourum come out of Iowa strong and do well in NH. Bachmann needs a win in the early states to stay in the race. I don’t care what type of “Momentum” BS they are pushing on Romney he will NEVER get my vote.

South Carolina is the first primary which actually means anything. Florida is the first primary which actually could be called decisive.
I can't argue with that. I'm in NH and can't stand the stupid rules that let dems vote in the repub primary. It makes the primary virtually worthless unless you there is no incumbent.
