There are plenty of people willing to work for top dollar and fantastic fringes without some "contract". Let 'em.
Not ALL teachers are like those in Elk Groove.
My granddaughter is a music teacher in a small town public school. She does NOT get paid OT for extra activities or music concerts, etc. In fact, she had scheduled a CHRISTMAS musical concert and asked each child to appear in black (or dark colored) pants and a white shirt. Some of the kids didn’t own white shirts and could not afford to buy them. She used her OWN MONEY AND OWN TIME to drive to a distant larger city, purchased shirts for those in need and gave them to the students who needed them. Now tell me ALL teachers are the same.
I am extremely proud of her, not to mention that she is a NON UNION type which makes me even more proud.
