Mylife didn’t ask if Santorum had fought. He asked if Santorum had commanded troops. This argument is really specious, however.

Mylife asked if anyone knew Santorum’s policy statements and I listed 3 off the top of my head. I’m sure there are many more. Mylife has not been paying attention to the race to even ask such a question. It does not improve one’s postition to change the argument.

I just don’t see Santorums positions as standing out from any of the other candidates.

Usually the question would be if a candidate has had military experience, not if he/she has commanded troops.

I just answered the question with that common understanding in mind.

Don't know if the poster meant it that way, but the litmus test of commanding troops blocks way too many people from the Presidency IMO.
