Muslim Brotherhood: Israel peace deal isn't binding

Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood will not recognize Israel under any circumstances and might put the peace treaty with the Jewish state up to a referendum, the movement's second in command told the Al-Hayat newspaper in an interview that was published Sunday.

The announcement comes days before the final round in the first parliamentary elections in post-uprising Egypt. The Islamist movement has emerged as the biggest winner in polls, capturing nearly half of the seats so far.

The Muslim Brotherhood "did not sign the peace accords," Rashad al-Bayoumi told the London-based newspaper. "We are allowed to ask the people or the elected parliament to express their opinion on the treaty, and (to find out) whether it compromised the people's freedom and sovereignty.

"We will take the proper legal steps in dealing with the peace deal," he added. "To me, it isn't binding at all. The people will express their opinion on the matter."

While the Brotherhood intends to temporarily honor Egypt's international pacts, al-Bayoumi told noted, "each side has the right to reexamine the treaty."

'Israel is enemy entity' He stressed that under no circumstances will the Brotherhood recognize the State of Israel.

"Is rising to power conditional on recognizing Israel?" al-Bayoumi wondered. "That's out of the question, no matter what the situation is. On no condition will we recognize Israel. It is an enemy entity, an exploiting, criminal occupier."

According to al-Bayoumi, no member of the Muslim Brotherhood will ever meet with Israelis.

Why does Islam have a death wish when confronting Israel? So far they’re the only country standing up to them.

Islam is a political force (farce),not a religion.

They obviously believe they can defeat Israel and they could care less how many Muslims die doing it.

The religion part just convinces their idiot practitioners that they will be martyrs and maks them willing to die. You won’t see any Imams or higher up leaders of the religious farce participating in the dying.Just the fools they have BS’d up. Seen any of their Ayotollahs wih a suicide bomb? Hell no: And you wont, They know when they die they are dead, there isn’t crap waiting on the other side for these practitioners working for Satan.

Muslim Brotherhood: Israel peace deal isn't binding

Neither is Egypt's occupation of the Sinai. If Egypt becomes belligerent the Israeli seizure of the Sinai is militarily necessary.

C’mon. Quit being so racist for criticizing Obama’s boys.

I’ll bet you were one of those against America intervening in Obama’s Libya!

That Obama? Loves to spread democracy like a true American!

These Islamists evidently do not care about the destruction that will rain down on their families, tribes, shrines, mosques, etc. if Israel feels she is threatened with extinction.

I believe Israel will have no compunction about nuking them since the world hates them anyway, so this last act will not matter.

Prepare for war Israel.

Hate to say it, but that's what they have to do.

It's unfortunate that most of Egypt's people are young, illiterate, ignorant of history. They have no idea what kind of military strength the Israeli army has and what Israel is capable of doing to a enemy.

They have also been lulled into a false sense of Israeli weakness by the enormous restraint Israel has shown to Arab provocations and they do not grasp that the Post Oslo Generation in Israel has lived through the betrayal of their parents goodwill to the Palestinians and is not in a mood for mercy - even on the Left, too some extent, it seems.

The Arabs have a made it plain that they want a war of annihilation with Israel. Their goal is to destroy Israel completely and slaughters most of the population and enslave the few that survive.

The next war will be for all the marbles. So if Israel has to go to war again, it will be to impose a military solution to much of their problems in the Middle East that will provide a measure of peace simply by virtue of wiping out their enemies military capability to such a degree that it will take them a generation to rebuild.

Hmm, good points.

If Egypt rejects/breaks the treaty, the Sinai would revert to Israel(?) If Egypt militarizes it, that would be a casus belli, perhaps the one Israel needs to clean up the Middle East as well as Iran.

IIRC, Israel did not start the six day war; it was started when Egypt closed the international waterway to Aqaba.

Right now, Hamas, Fatah, Hezbollah, and others are preparing for war with Israel, and doing so unabashedly. So Israel needs to put its foot down and issue an ultimatum.

“If Fatah and Hamas attack Israel, once again, Israel can no longer tolerate them, and they will all be driven out. Those Palestinians, men, women and children, who live in the Gaza Strip will be pushed into Egypt, and those Palestinians, men, women and children, who live in the West Bank will be pushed into Jordan. And they shall never, ever be allowed back.

“Israel does not do this by choice, but is being forced to by circumstances. We have sought peace for decades now, in the face of violence, threats, and intimidation, from the Palestinians and from all our neighbors, and we can tolerate this situation no longer.

“So we make one final appeal to the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip and West Bank. Do not attack us, or you will choose the day of your departure, and no one will stay our hand in this.

“This is a final warning. Choose the path of peace, or bid farewell to the lands you occupy. Forever.”

Right - a political force with a religious bent to it. And they also convince children to be suicide bombers. So really you can’t call it an ROP but a Satanic political cult or SPC.

Cancel the Accords and liberate Sinai for Israel, where it belongs. Lots of oil waiting for Israeli know-how.

The Egyptians are not “occupying” the Sinai. It was there’s to begin with. Isreal occupied it after the 67 war. They gave it back after camp David.
